Major desappointment in KITCHENAID
from Middletown, De
Comments about KitchenAid 26.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel:
Purchased refrigerator just over two years ago and from the start we have had problems with the unit, from ice buildup in the refrigerator section to freezer not properly working to entire system down with loss of all food. Had numerous service techs do the "necessary repairs" still not working. Don't buy this unit unless you are ready for trouble. A total waste of money.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Disappointing and Frustrating
from Wayne, NJ
Purchased this refrigerator a little over 2 years ago. After MANY service calls relating to the icemaker and the freezer, it is now being deemed unrepairable. We had the ice maker, compressor, evaporator and two boards replaced, and still no resolution. We are looking into the replacement model which is the same model but the newer version (KRFF707ESS). This version is more expensive at this point (being it is 2 years later) and I am nervous because I am reading similar bad reviews. To make the situation worse it has new hardware that no longer matches ALL the other appliances we intentionally purchased to match. The new hardware has red sides, a completely different style and the handles are not flush. The refrigerator is located in a narrow area that is a main walkway in our home and will likely get banged into and may be an issue with catching clothing etc. I looked into possibly purchasing the original hardware to put on the new refrigerator and even though the 2 units look identical the handles are not interchangeable. This has been a very time consuming, upsetting, costly process and should not even be something we should have to deal with on such a young refrigerator. After searching for answers and reading reviews it seems there are many other folks that have had similar issues with the freezer/ice maker on this model. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Love my Fridge!
from Keller, TX
Overall, I really do like my new kitchen aid refrigerator. I love the french doors because I absolutely hated the side-by-side that I had - food was always crowded and pushed to the back. The only thing I DO NOT LIKE are the ice cubes. They are small and melt very fast. My previous fridge did make great, larger and long-lasting ice cubes.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I have only had my refrigerator for a couple of months and i am very happy with all of its features.
They should make it minimum 2 yr warranty
from Parker, CO
We have had this unit Since FEB 2014. Before that the exact model OCT 2012. So, 2 yrs and it starts to break really. Why buy matching appliances when you do a kitchen remodel just to have them break on a consistent basis. Kitchen Aid should be embarassed of themselves for the lack of quality products. How can you say Made in The USA. I am Ashamed. With that said it is time to call the repairman again. Good thing I have them on speed dial.
Very unhappy customer
from Philadelphia, PA
Bought in April 2013. Had to purchase an extended warranty ($349.75). Parts were replaced and major work done to it in Dec 2015-Feb 2016. KA finally admitted they couldn't fix it--and the warranty people gave me my money back and said good luck, don't call us again! Now the ice maker is in "melt down". This unit isn't even 3 years old! What am I supposed to do now? I expected much more from KA!
The worst appliance I ever bought
from Boca Raton, FL
I have had 2 of these refrigerators in 6 months. The first one would never stop leaking from the ice maker after 6 service calls Kitchen Aid gave me a new one. It is now leaking around the freezer seal. I have always owned sub zero, Bosch and Dacor appliances. I am sorry I ever chose Kitchen Aid because they are so poorly made.
Very Noisy Refrigerator
Thought the bottom drawer was a good idea - it seems to just limit the freezer space - bad idea for us
I thought I would be thrilled with this refrigerator when I bought it but when I called to ask about it being so noisy they wouldn't even come out to check it out. Very disappointed - I remodeled with a complete KitchenAid kitchen. Very skeptical now.
