Stove top needs improvement
from Salisbury, NC
Comments about KitchenAid 29.937" Free Standing Electric Range - White:
Range preforms as advertised however the stove top is very hard to clean and scratches very easily. When it arrived scratches appeared and could not be polished out. Called service and they will replace the top with a new unit. It was shipped but UPS damaged the edge so the technician ordered a new one which has to be installed. It is very hard to clean stovetop after cooking, Any splatters smear the surface when cleaning. I have used the Affresh supplied with the unit, Windex, Greased Lightning, paper towels, micro cloth, all smeared the surface while cleaning, Lights from the overhead exhaust fan accentuates the smears. A Whirlpool range which was replaced with this unit had a grey mottled surface did not show any smears and could be scrapped with a blade for burned on residue.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

So far, pretty good...
I have had this range for almost 6 months. I love the induction cook top, but it's an adjustment - one I make gladly because of the speed and efficiency and the ease of cleaning. The heat settings range from melt, keep warm, to multiple-levels each of simmer, medium, high, and boost - a kind of turbo setting. I find that I consistently use lower heat levels than I did with the electric burners on my old range. The heat goes directly into the pan. The kitchen doesn't heat up when you are cooking - a blessing in hot weather. Burners shut off automatically if a pan is removed. I had to get new cookware. I'm still struggling with finding the right temperature to avoid burning and sticking. As for the oven, the heating coils for baking are not situated inside of the oven chamber, so it takes a bit longer to heat. I have just tried the aqua-clean feature, and I found it underwhelming. But the cleaning cycle is 40 minutes, not 4 hours. There is no high heat to turn the splatter into ash. I need to clean it before it becomes a struggle to remove the grease with a non-abrasive sponge. I used to keep pans in the bottom drawer of my stove. Not with this range. The drawer is shallow because the oven has been made larger. It works as a warming drawer. I can still store tops.
I enjoy cooking with the induction cook top.

Cooking on the induction cook top is awesome. Water boils within a few minutes. The heat is evenly distributed in the pan which make for ease of cooking. The oven to me is a standard type oven. I do like the convection conversion feature which takes the guess work out of what temperature to cook food at. Overall, I am very pleased with my new KitchenAid Range

This product is amazing. The quality is unsurpassed and the technology is cutting edge. I am very satisfied with my purchase.
Love my new stove!
I love my new Kitchenaid range! It has TRUE convection and a TRUE smooth-top! Very easy to keep the top clean and I use it daily. I'm still figuring out what the convection works best with, but I'm a baker and love baking 3 racks of cookies simultaneously. Also, it takes very little time to bring water to a boil on the burners. Nice! An added bonus is that it looks so nice....the big oven window is a real plus!
I'm loving the convection oven as well as the double oven feature.

KitchenAid has been my choice of appliances for many years. I have the mixer, blender, dishwasher and many other small items. Love the dependability and performance of this brand. Keep up the good work.
This range does everything and more.

I purchased this range as a replacement and it is performing great so far. I am a culinary teacher so good performance and features are important to me. I like the small oven as it us just right for most baking I do and it saves energy. It is quiet and easy to keep clean. Having a black glass cooktop is much preferred to white for me and the cooktop has many options for pan sizes. I have not used the convection oven yet but I am sure it will come in handy during the holidays. The design looks great in my kitchen and I am hoping for many years of good use.
Like everything except the Aqua Lift Technology
The first time I used the Aqua Lift oven cleaning method it failed because the water did not cover half of the oven floor, The top of my stove is level, but the inside bottom is way off level, I have to use twice as much water as recommended because the oven floor is not LEVEL. Which indicates poor manufacturing, one wonders about the rest of the stove. AND DO YOU REALLY THINK THE SIDES AND RACKS OF THE OF THE OVEN DON'T GET DIRTY, I am left to clean them the old fashioned time consuming way. Give me back my old self-cleaning oven.
Double Oven Is Great

Prior to owing a stove with two ovens I never thought about it as a need, now it seems that we find ourselves using both ovens for many of our meals. It makes getting everything ready at once a breeze.
