Broke in less than a year
from San Jose
Comments about KitchenAid 30.0625" Downdraft:
I would not recommend it for one reason, one of the burners stopped working in less than a year. I don't spend so much of money to have it break down in less than a year. I am trying to get it fixed since it's under warranty, but I don't have much faith in the product after this.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I replaced a JenAir & so fat the quality of this cooktop is superior. The knobs are metal & the grate is heavier.

This is a majot improvement on my previous model. Works great. Dials are hard to see.

Trying to get used to this new cooktop. Cooks a whole lot hotter than my old one (was 21 years old). Looks great. Wish it would have come in white. A pain to keep clean and streak free. I hope it's not an indication that I'll be blowing thru cooktop cleaner.
Love my new cooktop!
from Minneapolis, MN
This cooktop is very sturdy and is easy to clean. The metal trim on the edges helps to make it even more sturdy. The elements heat quickly. This is the second ceramic cooktop I've had and I like this Kitchenaid model much better than the Jennair model I had before.
Love this cooktop!

I bought this cooktop because I know Kitchen Aide makes great products. This one certainly lives up to their reputation. It heats up quickly and has a great variety of settings. It's easy to clean too. The fan is quiet.
So far so good!

I've only been using this cooktop for about 1 month and so far it is great. I needed one with a down draft so I did not have to hang a vent hood over a new kitchen island. This one works great. Clean up is easy and it heats quickly.
Well designed and attractive

Very attractive and efficient cooktop. Heating properties of the burners are excellent. However, be very careful about spills of food and liquids on the ceramic glass of this cooktop, because it is very difficult to maintain and keep clean. Must also be very careful to avoid scratching and gouging of the ceramic glass.

The cooktop takes a little getting use to, it works great just hard to adjust to cooking on glass cooking top. Heats up very quick, cools off very slow. Forever trying to keep smudges off glass cooktop. Would like for knobs to light up when that element is being used. Don't buy stainless steel, its 2 strips of 3/4in wide stainless steel across the top and bottom of the cooktop. (what a ripoff)

Waste of Money
from Bel Air, MD.
The burner controls are very difficult to read and the configuration is confusing. The exhaust fan is very noisy, even when on low speed. The cooking surface is always messy and clean-up is arduous. This is certainly not a "convenience" item.
