Nice Cooking Surface
By Lynn the mom

I bought this as a replacement for my 25 year old Jenn Air solid iron cooktop, which I loved. We have been remodeling our kitchen and needed a downdraft cooktop. So far, the cooktop works fine, but is much less efficient in heating and holding temperatures. The instant heat is nice, but nothing to write home about. Yes, I would purchase this again as there is not a choice for the one that I am replaced. The only reason that we replaced the old cooktop was its age and the fact that the new counters had to be cut.
Well built and so nice to used.

Great heat distribution and easy cleanup - looks sleek. I would prefer if it were a little wider and the knobs were further away from the cooking eye.

Pots and pans tend to spin on the ultra flat surface. Cleaning the surface can require more than one attempt. The heating elements cycle from hi to low or nothing even when on the double ring elements are on MAX. It took me 30 minutes to boil a pot of egg noodles for dinner. A tea pot typically takes 10 to 15 minutes to boil. Expected the unit to be much quicker than it is. Noticed that one click of the handle can e the difference between burning or barely browning in the frying pan. The downdraft is outstanding.
NEW COOK TOP REALLY NICE AND IT ADDS TO THE KITCHEN

THE KNOBS ARE KIND OF BACKWARDS IN A WAY BUT YOU CAN GET USE TO THEM , AND I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT YOU HAVE TO BE SO CAREFUL NOT TO SCRATCH THE TOP WITH POTS AND PANS I'M NOT SO USE TO BEING CAREFUL ON MY OLD COOK TOP WHILE I COOK . MY HOUSE IS 25 YEARS OLD SO I HAD TO REWIRE AND REPLACE OLD BREAKER AND WIRE TO OLD COOK TOP AND I HOPE THIS ONE LAST 25 YEARS LIKE THE OLD ONE DID

This item replaced a Jenn Aire that had two temperatures per burner. Burn and off. And then there were only two burners working. All these burners work, and they do have exact temperatures. The downdraft is not really loud and does what it is supposed to do. I do wish the controls were lighted separately when the specific burner was on. I am using a cerama bryte cook top cleaner and it keeps the burners black. This is even though I do can and process food from the garden on all burners.
By like my cooktop
I had to stay with an electric cooktop with a downdraft due to the configuration of my kitchen. The cooktop does require regular maintenance to make sure the surface is completely clean before cooking. I like the choice of all the sizes of pots to use on the elements.
Installation was easy. My husband did it.

Easy to clean. The burners heat up very fast. The ability to adjust the burner size is perfect. And, last but not least, it makes my kitchen counter look beautiful.
