Ease of Cleaning
By Melynda & Johnnie

Comments about KitchenAid 30.25" Electric Cooktop - Black with Stainless Steel:
We purchased this Kitchen Aid Cook Top to complete our brand new Kitchen for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The main reasons are the ease of keeping the cooktop clean with simply whipping off with a damp cloth and applying a cream cleaner afterwards once the element has cooled off. ( we had another Kitchen Aid cooktop before this one that lasted over 20 years)
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Rah at a great cooktop
By Rodg the dodge
We bought our Kitchen Aid cooktop in April, after using one for three months during our winter retreat to Florida. What a improvement from our xxxxxxx cooktop. Would recommend this unit to everyone. Also purchased the Kitchen Aid oven microwave combo also a wonderful until.
It works great, but there are some concerns
from Bloomingdale, IL
I got this unit back in May of 2015, so I have used it for a year. After a few weeks, I noticed the knobs were hot to the touch, almost burning my fingers if I did not use a towel or something. Thats been happening on and off since then. Now recently it blew a breaker and I had to install a new breaker. And also the power light stays on all the time, and before it was only on if it was in use. This unit has a major problem and potential hazard. I hope I am the only one with this problem and not many can say the same. I also bought a whole kitchen package at the time and everything else works great. Too bad I am out of the 1 year warranty, I should have said something sooner. But it just got worse a week ago.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We have this cooktop in our condo in NC. We redid our kitchen in FL and ordered the same cooktop. We are extremely pleased with this appliance. We have had no problems with delivery, installation or use of this cooktop. In our opinion KitchenAid appliances are the best and we would order them again.

I do love my new cooktop as far as cooking features, but am extremely disappointed with its failure at maintaining its factory clean appearance. I am a diligently clean person but cannot seem to find a technique for removing what appear to be below the surface markings on the cooktop!? I find this very frustrating since my cooktop never looks clean. I am seriously considering exchanging it for the good old fashioned element style cooktop unless done one gas a suggestion? Or is y Schott Ceran glass defective??!!
Should have bought another induction cook top
Food bakes on....impossible to clean
I bought this cooktop to go along with the suite of Kitchen Aid items. I liked it because the knobs are on the side out of the way of the cooking surface and process of cooking. They are also set in a way that makes the cooktop easy to clean under and around the knobs. Nice!
Good but not as good as my 15 year old model
from Charlottesville, VA
PRO - Its a cooktop - it gets hot.CONS - (1) Outline of burner surfaces are hard to see. Old unit has a pattern in the glass and the elements had a different pattern - that was easy. This is just the same high gloss finish with a hard to see burner outline. (2) Very hard to clean - old unit was trivial to clean. The pattern in the old unit made streaking a non problem. This unit has high gloss glass. No way to clean it with windex. Need to use a white paste polish. Needs to be done EVERY night or it becomes impossible to clean. Far more effort involved than in the 15 year old one.
Look, No knobs!
from Eugene, OR
The burners are responsive and large enough for our over-sized pans, No knobs make the cleaning much easier and adds to the usable cooking area. Love the power burner that heats water (etc) much faster than our old cooktop. And love the easy to use "touch" control. This is much easier to regulate the heat than the old one. Like all flat-tops, you have to watch the spills and cleanup as quickly as possible. Only downside for me is that you have to avoid "shaking" the pan like you can with a gas cooktop...but that's my cooking style.

We remodeled and purchased all kitchen aid appliances. This cooktop is a very sleek design, easy to use, and very versatile. So nice to have the option of 3 different element sizes on the front burner and 2 sizes on the far right burner. Great option if you prefer cooking with electric versus gas.
