Comments about KitchenAid 30.25" Electric Cooktop - Black:
No knobs is a must. I just wished I could see the burners better. The surface is all dark and I can only see the burner area when I turn it on. But other than that, it is great
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Do not buy this cooktop

We purchased this cooktop based on brand reputation, some of the on-line reviews, and the sleek design. It is hard to control the heat and the definition of the burners is not good. We are avid cooks and entertain often in our kitchen so both function and aesthetics are important to us- this model has neither. After every use we take a deep breath and once again attempt to clean the darn thing- it's at least a three step, ten minute ordeal to remove spilled food, lift the stains, then remove the resulting film and streaks. We let it cool off, wipe it down, them get the soft scrub, then get the Windex and paper towels. All of this and there are still food stains and spots. Tonight we tried a friend's recommendation to finish it with a single edge razor blade... That definitely helped but there is no way you should have to work so hard to clean a cooktop. Don't be fooled by the sleek design, the only time it looks great is the day it is installed and when there is no light on it. After just 9 months we are alrady dreaming of the replacement.

Having a flat surface with no knobs was very important to us since we wanted an easily cleaned surface. This certainly fir the bill. Elements are easily controlled and can do a low simmer up to a hot skillet. Very flexible and temps are stable.

I bought this cooktop 6 weeks ago and love it. The surface is so easy to keep clean. I feel it is a great up grade to my home.

We remodeled our kitchen about two months ago and added this Cooktop. We originally thought about an induction cooktop, but our cookware is not magnetic so they would all have to be replaced. We are completely satisfied with this KitchenAid Cooktop, which is very user friendly and meets all iof our cooking needs.
An Excellent Choice for an Electric Cook-Top
from Dallas, Texas
We purchased the cook-top stove to replace one that had been in use for 21 years. The KitchenAid cook-top has performed beautifully since its installation. The zoned cooking areas are efficient and the controls over the temperature and zones are easy to use and work quite well. I would suggest that the literature accompanying the stove top should be more specific regarding instructions for cleaning the cook top; specifically as to where to obtain the fluids, brushes and sponges used to clean the cook-top. With the exception of a lack of instructions as to how and where to obtain the cleaning materials the cook-top is excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing a quality cook-top.
Very Nice Cooktop!
from Marengo, OH
Pros: 1)cooks really well and heats up very fast. 2)Easy to wipe off.Cons: 1)difficult to figure out the buttons, and it takes pushing several buttons to get it to turn on/off. 2)Hard to adjust hi/med/low as well.
Installed in my new home and works great. No issues yet, but have not used it much either.
