Comments about KitchenAid 30.25" Electric Cooktop - Black:
I purchased my cooktop a year ago after spending much time checking and reading about cooktops. I had the coils which I loved. I cannot get the burner adjusted-either too hot, or not hot enough. I love the feature of two burners with adjustable sizes and I use those. But I tell it to cook at say #7 and it will be on 3 or 4 or 5 in a few minutes. I had coils that I could set for a temperature, say 350, and it would stay there. They don't make that stove anymore. I am always afraid I am going to drop something or break it. I have a friend who did. I would love to have my old cooktop back (in new condition, of course.) I have been replacing all of my original GE appliances with Kitchenaid. So far, I have been pleased with the dishwasher, oven, ice machine, and disposal. Disappointed in cooktop.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Love this cooktop! We had the knob control model previously, but decided to replace it with this sleek touch control cooktop 5 months ago during a kitchen remodel. Are we glad! The touch panel allows precise temperature control with large digital readout. This cooktop heats faster than gas. The Ultra-Hot burner really will boil a large pot of water in less than 10 minutes! The lock feature keeps little fingers from turning on a burner accidentally. Cerama-Bryte cooktop cleaner gets the job done with little effort, and there are no knobs to remove for cleaning. Yay KitchenAid!

Quality & Customer Service Very Disappointing
from Olympic Peninsula, WA
This cooktop was installed with our remodel in June 2015. We purchased a set of the KitchenAid Cookware set that was recommended by KitchenAid to us. We have regularly used the cleaning products recommended by KitchenAid. Unfortunately, the front left burner has many scratches on it. We have contacted KitchenAid via the website and a week later we still have no response. After a 10+ minute phone wait hoping for resolution. Will update...
Sleek and Smooth
One of the heating elements on my old ceramic cooktop had stopped working. This KitchenAid does an excellent job, the elements heat up quickly and evenly. I can really see a difference in how much faster the water boils when cooking pasta. Real time saver.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Elements work well. Beautiful design. One of best rated by Consumer Reports. Disappointed that ceramic glass so touchy; already scrached by moving a pot!I have had a glass ceramic top over 20 years and only one scratch using same cookware.

Not my favorite appliance
By Mike S
from Orlando, FL
I had this installed about five months ago as part of a custom kitchen renovation.Pros:- Looks nice when perfectly clean- Can get quite hotCons:- Extremely difficult to keep clean; requires special cleaner and elbow grease and even then is easy to pock mark/permanently damage- Some burners get extremely and unexpectedly hot; knobs can be very sensitive between low heat and and really hot- One knob broke within first few months of use (power and hot surface lights no longer activate when using upper left burner); waiting on a part for warranty repair- Difficult to see outlines of burner areas unless very well-litNB: Write down your serial number before installing. This is the only appliance I got recently where the company didn't have the foresight to put a sticker on the manual with the serial number. You basically have to uninstall it to get the serial number.
No knobs to burn!!
Love this cooktop- great design, even cooking and no knobs to get in the way!!
Happy with all my new Kitchen Aid appliances

Flexible burners, quick heating, good highs and lows. I had white before and wish I had chosen it this time. Black shows everything. But it looks good with stainless.

I have had this a couple of weeks. Still getting use to it. Pot boiled over and made mess but son in law cleaned it up and it looked great.
