Comments about Kitchen-Aid 30.25" Gas Cooktop - Stainless Steel:
when redoing our appliances went with the same as we had in our old home. love that the cooking surface is flat along all burners and that the heavy cast iron grates set in the burner caps
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love having 5 burners and the ability to simmer on very low setting. My disappointment is that I have tiny white spots which I cannot remove and the black finish on the grates is beginning to wear off after minimal use.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Easy to use Stovetop

My wife & share cooking responsibilities, & we both enjoy cooking on this cooktop. I especially like the larger center burner which will boil 4 quarts of water very quickly...great for pasta. Temperatures are easy to adjust. Good design which will handle 5 pots at the same time.
A great improvement from our previous one and love the simmer feature.

Overjoyed with its performance and it cleans so easily.
Great Cook Top

This cook top is great! The fifth burner is more powerful than any other cook top I researched. Some of the reviews I read mentioned that the grates were to high or that it the heat was not easily adjusted. I have to say I've not experienced any of those problems.

Makes cooking a joy. Switched from electric to gas and am so happy with range.
Plenty of heat options

I love the variation in BTU's among the burners. The style of the unit is also very nice. I wish I would have went with the 36" unit though; it's a bit crammed on 30". Also, the frame could be stronger. It was difficult to install and get tied down tight enough to not have flex in it.
I bought this product after a couple of months comparing different brands. I liked the layout of the burners and the placement of the control knobs. The knobs are up front which gives you the entire surface for placement of your pots and pans. I like the grate design which allows you to use small pots without them tipping over. The total height of the cooktop is about 3" and that kept me from reducing the size of the drawer underneath it. I also like the ignition of a burner if the flame goes out. I have a ceiling fan in the kitchen and it has blown out the flame but it immediately lit again. I recommend that you purchase an extended warranty because this is a high dollar purchase and if anything goes out it should be covered if you protect yourself with a warranty. The only problem that we have is that the aluminum protectors under the burner caps are beginning to scorch and discolor. Kitchen Aid might want to look into this part to see if they can design a new product for this issue. The scorching is not bad, just spotty and a little noticeable. For the long run I don't know how much this will take away from the overall clean appearance. The 5 burner stove is just great it is a must in every kitchen. It was worth the money to have the entire stove to cook on or just having the flat surface to set a lot of pots to keep warm.
