This is the first time we have used an induction cooktop & are very happy with it's operation so far.

Excellent except for the misleading term "bridge"
from Nashua, NH, United States
I echo almost everything that you read in the five-star reviews. Super-fast preheating, precise control, no excess heat in the kitchen, etc. It's especially good for cast iron, which can take a long time to heat up. My one caveat, which knocks it down a star for me: the "bridge" element doesn't exist. When you initiate that feature, it simply controls two separate round elements at the same level. There are no additional electronics in the bow tie-shaped connecting area..meaning that a griddle that spans the burners will not heat evenly. On our old smoothtop, conventional range, that area actually heated up. There's at least one Bosch induction model that does the same. This was the primary reason I purchased this particular model, and if you're counting on a nice, large, evenly-heated area for pancakes, steaks, etc., pick another model. If the bridge burner isn't a concern to you, go for it: it's an otherwise wonderful cooktop.
Kitchenaid Induction Cooktop
Love it, love it, love it !!! It's so easy to use and easy to clean.
Works well, had to be retrained regarding the controls, not as noisy as some people were noticing

I would buy this product again, only 5 months old. I would like to post in two or three years to see if performance continues.
Broken too soon

Right after purchase, there is a "short". Flashing lights for two burner controls. First circuit board didnt work...am waiting on another and repairman.

Not so lucky

I have had 4 different units, all blew out when boiling water on the back burner.
Sorry I bought this product. Do not recommend

We have been using this for two weeks and had to buy all new cookware. First, one of the elements wouldn't stay on and when we had a technician come to fix it we discovered that each element requires a pan with a bottom surface the size of the element for it to work. A wok doesn't keep on the element as the bottom surface area is too small. Plus in the first week, while moving a pan off it's element, the surface scratched. That seems ridiculous since we are using approved cookware. You need to know what you are getting into.
Great new way of cooking.

We bought the induction cooktop for our new house. I liked the fact that it heats the pan and doesn't throw a lot of heat into the room. It can boil water in about a minute. You have to pay attention to it at first because it heats up so fast. We love it.

This cooktop is completely unreliable
This cooktop is great... WHEN IT WORKS! Unfortunately, it already broke down on me two times in 8 months. Each time, I was left without a cooktop for weeks. Now I am stuck with this thing in which I have zero confidence, and just wait for it to break down a third time. Do yourself a favor: don't buy this unit. Don't get me wrong: I love it when it works. It does everything an induction cooktop is supposed to do, and very well. Let me add that all my appliances are Kitchenaid, so I have nothing against this brand. But this particular unit was clearly not ready for primetime. Maybe in a few years, after the engineers have come up with a new version of the same unit, it will be ready. But right now, it is unreliable.
I love cooking on this cooktop.
from South Carolina
I love this cooktop. The heat on each burner is even and accurate. It heats up much faster than a conventional electric cooktop. When finished cooking the surface indicator displays the cooking surface is hot, but it will not burn if touched. A few things I do not like: if you place any item that has some weight on the cooktop, a sensor starts beeping until it is removed and no cover for the cooktop. Also, the timer cannot be used independently unless a burner is on.
