Comments about KitchenAid 30.8125" Electric Cooktop - Black with Stainless Steel:
Love it! Was a bit apprehensive going to induction from lots of years cooking with either gas or electric. Glad I made the switch. Precise temperature control, can keep things at a steady slow boil, simmer etc. without constant vigilance for boil overs. Also, no scalding hot burners to to inadvertently touch.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Please consider putting the large burner in front as the microwave is above the stove top.

from Hemet, Ca
Love the cooktop have had it over a year. I need a griddle to do pancakes that will fit the bridge burners. Would like it coated for easy cleanup. Please give me some suggestions to look at

Just had a total kitchen remodel and this Induction is so awesome....boiling water in one minute!!!

Got this appliance in a remodelThe "great" detection of pan size function that KitchenAid boasts of is one of my biggest complaints.Want to make a package of Ramen noodles, heat up a single serving of oatmeal? Boil a cup of water? Forget it.The burner is too big to allow a small pan. I have to use a pan that is big enough for the burner size circle to boil a couple cups of water, which makes the water lever 1/4 inch in the pot. Most of my water is evaporated by the time it boils. The Ramen noodles block is more than half way above the water line by the time I have cooked it for a minute. It is such an obvious design flaw, that I am astounded it passed inspection by any seasoned cook who might have tested this cooktop. The large burner has a smaller circle inside of it for smaller pans to be allowed on it, why not something like this for the small burner? Also, if you're boiling potatoes and the water bubbles out even a little bit, as in water drops that occasionally splatter out, the stove just SHUTS OFF. I can't tell you how often I have to carefully wipe away ALL the water, and restart my cooktop while in the middle of making soup or potatoes or steaming vegetables.Occasionally, the cooktop will beep and turn off in the middle of cooking something without any apparent reason.I would like to use this cooktop as a landing spot for cookie sheets just out of the oven, but more often than not, the cooktop will buzz loudly and then make a prolonged "BEEEEP!" every 5 seconds for about 20 minutes, and NOTHING will stop it- I just have to wait it out with that grating beeping going off loudly. This beeping will occasionally happen even when a cold glass or metal bowl or pan touches the cooktop. That said, the cooktop heats up quickly, looks good, and is a dream to keep clean. I would do a lot more shopping and research in the future if I had to purchase another induction cooktop. Just because something is made by a brand like KitchenAid, doesn't mean it's going to be good quality.I would make a different choice in brands if I could do it again.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I'm still learning how to cook by induction. One problem I have had is seeing exactly where the heating area is when the pan is on the "burner." The "burner" won't let me use a pan small enough to see the outline of the heating area. Any suggestions?
We bought this about a month ago, I had been looking and researching for months before hand. I am definitely happy with our decision to buy this one.. It's a Wonderful cooktop! Very easy to cook on as well as to clean. The response time for heating and turning off is amazing! I love it!

What can I say...I love it. Having cooked with gas for the last twenty years, I moved to a place without a gas option. The induction cooktop gives me greater control over my cooking than the gas did. I am so pleased I went with induction. I am also pleased, as I have been for years, with KitchenAid.
Smaller but just as good

We'v just built our new retirement home and downsized including the cook top to the smller 30". Love the induction power for three reasons. 1 Easy to keep clean. 2, Can actually simmer.3.Tea pot is hot before you can get a cup and a tea bag ready... Fantastic
