Great features; easy to keep clean

Comments about KitchenAid 30" Electric Cooktop - Black:
We've had ceramic cooktops in the past and found them to be difficult to keep clean. An induction cooktop does not burn food on the cooktop like a regular ceramic cooktop does; it cleans with just a wipe. Appropriate cookware is needed for induction cooking, but we're very happy we made the switch to induction.

ceramic downdraft cooktop

I have had this cooktop since April 2014. I hate the burner temp controls. The high and the low are on different sides of the controls. The dual burners have high on the left side and the single burners above it have the high on the right side. I have burnt many things and have under cooked others. i am still trying to adjust to this. i have wasted lots of food this way. Finally the upper right dual burner had to be replaced about a month ago; as it quit working. Then 2 wks ago it stopped functioning again. I stress out and yell at my cooktop whenever I have to use it.

The cooktop exceeds my expectations! It adjusts the temperature on each element making it easy to cook without boiling over or burning. The fan is quieter than on my old cooktop. I am really enjoying it!
Recently remodeled kitchen and switched all appliances to Kitchenaid.Cook top is great and has two burners with Dual action. I love it. When I have all of the family here I a cooking for 16+ people. Need the functions this cooktop provides.

I recently bought this to replace a 15 year old Jenn-Air with a broken burner. The exhaust works much better than the downdraft Jenn-Air ever did. The mirror-like black finish requires extra time to keep clean and polished, but having all of the controls on the right-hand side helps some. The smooth, black vent cover provides a sleek, attractive look. So far I'm very pleased with this purchase.
cooks to perfection!

I bought a Kitchen Aid Induction Cooktop and I love it - it goes to highest heat immediately, then turns down to lowest of lows instantly. It sautés better than gas, simmers better than electric and you can clean up spills around a pot while it's still cooking. Highly recommend it!

I have the advantage of being in the foodservice business. I purchased stand alone induction cooking units 6 yrs. ago and have literally gone away from any other cooking option. Imagine boiling over pasty water or a cheese sauce that just wipes up with a paper towel, without scrubbing, ANYTHING. No "hot" tops to worry about with small children running in the kitchen. Energy efficient, quicker time to boil and sauté. Sure you need a pot or pan that magnets stick to but you'll appreciate the better quality of the pan and it will last longer and will not warp as they do on ceramic cooktops when you set the burner higher than necessary. And they said Star Wars hade all the neat high tech stuff.

I purchased this cooktop to replace the one I had for 20 years ( also Kitchen Aid). I love the look and the downdraft feature. It warms up very quickly. Not sure why the small burner on right front doesn't stay warm. Overall, I love it. I need to read more about the features

I've had this a couple of weeks and I'm very impressed with the speed. It boils 2 cups of water in 2 minutes.

I had always wanted a gas stove until I researched induction cooktops. This one meets and exceeds my expectations. Amazing to have instant heat under a cooking pot. I was pleasantly surprised at how much of my cookware worked with the induction elements. Highly recommend.
