A great cooktop
from Florida, United States
Comments about KitchenAid Kitchen-Aid 30" Electric Cooktop - Black:
I'm very happy with this so far. I notice the units are hotter, and heat up faster, than my old unit. I hope this one last a long time. I bought and used the protector, and it has really worked well.

Fast heating and fine heat control
We have had the induction cooktop for about 5 months and have been super pleased with it. Easy cleanup - nothing gets cooked onto the surface as with a traditional resistance element. VERY fast to heat the contents of a pan and the heat control is predictable, instant and very fine grained. Easy to use, love the "simmer" feature. Make sure you obtain the glue for mounting the install rails to a solid surface countertop, it isn't included with the cooktop. Fairly easy to install but you need to pay attention to get the height right so the cooktop is supported by the rails underneath and NOT by the glass.

This Cooktop has been excellent; easy to clean, cooks evenly, and has a beautiful look.

Beautiful cooktop. Still getting used to the touchpad, but it works perfectly.

We purchased this to replace an old cooktop and this is so gorgeous . It heats up food quickly and looks sleek. Very happy with it.

Great Induction Cooktop

My fiancé was very impressed and loves it. You have to have stainless bottom cookware. But there is non stick ones out there just take a magnet and test the bottoms. If it sticks your good.
Hard to clean
from Savannah, GA, United States
This cooktop is not just hard to clean, it is almost impossible to clean. It cooks well and heats quickly, but the stove's glasslike black surface always looks smeary and is almost impossible to make streak-free. Cooked-on food is virtually impossible to clean.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Great cooktop with one misleading description
Heats cast iron super fast--so fast that on I cracked a griddle because I let it heat up for about 45 seconds on Boost. Accurate controls, fast cooking, very low, consistent slow-cooking temps. My only complaint: there are no electronics in the bowtie-shaped area between the so-called "bridge" burners. All that setting does is control the two burners simultaneously. I discovered this when I realized that the middle of our griddle was not heating up as much as the ends. On our old electric cooktop, there were actually heating elements in that area. If you do a lot of griddle cooking, check for another brand or model that will actually heat that area; they're available.
Excellent control of cooking heat finally!

I bought this Kitchenaid downdraft electric cooktop about two months ago. I love it. I have so much more control of the temperature than I did with my old JennAir. I am sorry I waited so long to replace my old cooktop. I had it repaired twice.
