Comments about KitchenAid 30" Free Standing Gas Range - Stainless Steel:
I bought this about a year ago and have found the knobs turn so easy that I find us turning them on without knowing, which means we have gas leaking. Within about 1/2 hour we can smell it. Not a good thing. So we have to take them until we need to use the stove.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We bought this oven a few weeks ago and have been putting it to the test. The temperature is true, the documentation is easy to read and follow, and the stove and oven perform flawlessly. We LOVE it!!!

Love the grates on the top. Easy to remove and replace after cleaning. The oven is huge and I have never used convection before but so glad I chose this one. Shortens the cooking time!

I bought this to replace a far more expensive oven that lasted only 4 years. Unlike that range, this one has a gas oven as well as a gas cook top, but unlike the old one, this one works. I expect it will continue to do so. I have a 7-year-old KitchenAid dishwasher that has never given me trouble and a KitchenAid refrigerator that was quickly fixed (DIY) after it began leaking water after about 4 years. (A plastic crisper drawer cover also broke, but it's fine without it. I bought the fridge also to replace a more expensive --and non-working--appliance.) All in all, I'm satisfied with this range and the other KitchenAid appliances I have. They aren't top of the line. The stainless steel on this range (and on all my other KitchenAid appliances) fails the 'magnet test', and it has fewer features and lighter weight hardware than my older range, but it wasn't nearly as expensive. In fact, it cost about the same as the repairman said it would cost to fix the old one (if the part needed to do so wasn't on back-order). If you're looking for good, reliable appliances for your kitchen without spending a fortune, KitchenAid seems to be a good choice.

We've had the range for six months, and we're largely satisfied when cooking for the two of us. But cooking for larger groups can be a chore. Some annoying issues are that there is too much black enamel on top, rather than SS around the burners, the 5 burners are too close together when several pots/pans are being used at the same time, and the knobs on the front become very hot to the touch when the oven is in use (here, Whirlpool finally sent us replacement knobs that do not get as hot)

bought with a whole package, very nice stove. only one burner gets very, very low which is just going to take some getting used to.

There are several things I like about this range: the way it looks, the big window into the oven, the black cast iron grates on the stove, how quickly the burners heat up. But overall I am disappointed in this product. The enamel coating on the stove is already chipping and peeling after only 3 months of use. My grates are not level, making my pans rock. I've even had the grates replaced and the second ones are worse than the first. The knobs get very hot to the touch when the oven is on. The interface is overly complicated. The over takes a long time to pre-heat when it's on the convection setting and automatically shuts off sometimes. For this price point, I was hoping to end up with a stove that I really love and this one just isn't it.

We bought this a month ago and love it. So simple to use and easy to clean. Can't believe we waited 20 years to purchase a new one.
I love the way the oven bakes and I love the cook top BUT I do not like the fact that the regular burners are in the back and the high heat/ high temp burners are in the front. Wish it was the other way around since I use the regular burners so much more and it's a pain having to reach in the back to stir, saute or fry something.
