The glass top has broken twice in three weeks. I have used a glass top stove for 12 years and never broke a top. this one has broke 2 time in three weeks. Kitchen aid wont fix or even look at it because I bought it 13 months ago and the warranty is 12 months. the replacement top is expensive. so now I have to either buy yet another glass top, or trash a cook stove I bought 13 months ago.

I have had this a month and am so in love. It is wonderful being knobless, so easy to clean. Looks great and cooking with it has been so much fun! Would highly recommend if you are looking for a quality product.

I really like the classy view this cooktop adds to my counter-top. The larger 36 inch surface handles all sizes of pots and pans easily. It is very easy to adjust and use in every respect. Simply touch Power to turn it on, touch the eye symbol for the cooking location and the power slide for the heat amount. While this eye is selected, you can vary the size of the cooking area on the front three eyes. You can also change the power to simmer, melt or warm. It is very versatile and easy to use. It uses a ratio of on to off time to vary the amount of heat to the pan which is a little different from conventional electric or gas burners; but it is easy enough to learn. Cleaning is easy compared to conventional gas or electric. It is one smooth continuous surface with no traps. After the surface has cooled enough to let the hot warning indicators turn off, you can wipe it with a wet cloth and then a clean dry towel. Microfiber towels work best. If something has burned on the surface, wipe it with CeramaBrite cleaner and wipe it off when it turns to a haze with a microfleece towel. If it is cleaned after use, it will be nice and shiny for the next use. A heavy burned on area will require both Cerama Brite cleaner and a single edge razor blade. Check out YouTube for instructions. If I could change anything on this cooktop, I would make the pot size lines easier to see.

Very difficult to use and very difficult to regulate temps. Too confusing! Would never buy but that is what the builder offered - did not have a choice. :(

We just purchased a full line of Kitchen-aid products for our new kitchen. The 36" cook-top is so much nicer than the 30" standard versions. The extra 6" does not seem like a lot but it makes all the difference. Overall this unit is good but there are a few minor issues that you cannot know from a showroom. The surface is more difficult to clean than our previous Samsung glass cooktop. Even using the proper cooktop cleaner, it tends to smear as if there is a layer of oil on the surface. It takes a little more time and effort than I would like to spend to get it nice and clean and have that mirror finish that is expected from a glass cooktop. I like the fact that there are no knobs to trap dirt, but the buttons are sometimes difficult to use. the buttons are not as sensitive to touch as I would like and I have to push the buttons multiple times to get the desired result. I also wish that Kitchen-aid would offer a bridge on their standard model. The only 36" model available with the bridge is an induction model and we did not want to buy all knew pots and pans. The only other negative is the gap between the bottom of the cooktop and the countertop. The installers assured me that they were putting the gasket in the proper way, but food can get stuck under the cooktop because of this gap. Eventually I will just put a bead of caulk around it to close the gap but for the money, it should come with a proper gasket that seals the outer edge to the mounting surface so that there is not a gap under the unit.

We bought this to replacer a 15 year old Kitchenaid cooktop. We like the improvements to the controls. Also like the steel edging we opted for...no more chipped edges. We're very pleased so far.

While its good, but I see lot of spots appearing and with the current washing liquid prescribed - not going away. It comes with a scraper, this needs to be resolved

Works well, but really hard to keep it clean. Glass always stricks regardless. Otherwise I am satisfied with it's performance
A great concept but

I still haven't adjusted to gradually changing the heat or cold content of the burners and am still getting FE errors and blowing the circuit breaker. But, if I remember not to put a hot pan on a cold burner and not to put a cold pan on a warm burner and not to take a pan off a hot burner without shutting it down first, this cooktop is a dream. I like the controls and I like having 5 burners. It is great instant heat and being able to regulate the size of the heating surface with the touch of a finger is a great concept.
