Comments about KitchenAid 36.3125" Electric Cooktop - Black:
An early xmas present was my kitchenaid 36 inch electric cooktop; finally got rid of that old jennair that was like over 30 years old!!! Love that I don't have to clean those nasty electrical elements! Also love the zone sizing as well as the lack of knobs ALL DIGITAL!!! like that we can "lock" the top from little hands as well - big safety feature! BIG UPGRADE FOR MY KITCHEN!!! THANKS KITCHENAID!!!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We are very happy with the modern clean look as well as the performance.
So much better than my old GE cooktop
from Houston, TX, United States
The installation was easy, with just a slight modification of the counter top opening required. My old cook top had knobs that collected grease and dirt underneath, requiring removal and cleaning constantly, and which eventually simply broke off. The Kitchen aid is completely smooth with no protruding parts. The controls are electronic and use touch sensitive areas on the cook top. They are rather intuitive and after using them a couple of times it will feel natural. This cook top also heats very rapidly for an electric one. On several of the elements, you have a choice of one or more rings to heat, so you can tailor the element to the size of the pan. I have owned and used this cook top for several months now and I cook a lot. This unit is definitely worth the money.....

Love my new stove top! Perfect size for my family,
from Jacksonville, FL, United States
We have been using the cooktop for a few weeks now and really like the features of the appliance. The total smooth top is really nice. The touch controls work effortlessly. The only complaint is that the position of the burners is hard to see as the lines showing the burners is very faint. Otherwise very pleased.

Beautiful, but will pick up dust quickly. Streaks on the glass are annoying, despite using recommended Refresh. Controls are user friendly. Lock out feature nice. Burners heat rapidly. Cooktop functions well. Nothing negative except the frequency of cleaning, but that goes with this style appliance.
Attractive and Easy to Clean

We purchased our Kitchenaid Cooktop as part of a new build purchase. We selected it because of it's attractiveness and ease in cleaning. It took a little getting used to (the touch activated controls), but we are loving the even heat technology and how easy it is to clean. Love the look!

Sleek, low profile design. Allows are island to be a focal point - no knobs that stand out. Easy to clean with the proper cleaner. Even heating - takes a little longer to heat up than previous electric stove top.

Love the cooktop ... HOWEVER!!
from Ponte Vedra, Florida
The cooktop is very good -- need to read the manual to be fully functional. However, after moving in for a month and beginning to use the cooktop, I found that the exhaust hood above the cooktop is badly dented on the front left side (and maybe that was why the light there did not work, and I have to put in a new bulb). I was directed by Pulte Warranty to contact Whirlpool and was told that "the cosmetics were only insured for 30 days after closing." Since we closed in June, and did not move in until September and did not use and hence notice the damage and call until October, "there was nothing she could do for me..., is there anything else?" so was I told over the phone. I was too frustrated to argue with her and maybe will have to live with the damaged hood if Whirlpool will not do anything to remedy the damaged hood. BTW, I have all the other user's manuals for the Kitchenmaid products I chose for this new house except the said hood. The lady I talked to over the phone said that "you could download the manual from the web." My response was that I knew that I could, however, this fact just indicated to me that the said hood was damaged/returned and was then installed in my new house and that was why the instruction manuals were missing. I am including two pictures of the damage of the hood. I appreciate the opportunity to vent my frustrations. Will I have to be reminded of this bad experience every time I use the cooktop and hood? I just don't know....
