Comments about KitchenAid 5 Speed Ultra Power Hand Mixer - Black:
Have really liked the size and color. Handy when I don't need a large bowl. Eggs, pancakes ect. It is not a super power but perfect for frosting.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Received as a Christmas gift after my 22-year old mixer died and finding out the $10 replacements are loud & clunky. I always wanted a KitchenAid! Turns out it's beautiful to look at, wonderfully weighted, smooth & quiet......but EXTREMELY underpowered. Top speed is incredibly weak and doesn't whip for squat. I've tried making whipped creams and puddings with flat & kind of watery results. For straight Mixing, it's fine, but why not just use a spoon at that point? Unfortunately, I have no proof of purchase for a return, but am looking around for a good deal on another brand.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I expect more from Kitchen Aid
I am so sorry I bought this mixer! I was replacing a Black and Decker that I received as a wedding gift in 1990 that finally wore out. I LOVE my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and Kitchen Aid dishwasher, but was so disappointed in this hand mixer. It is weak, definitely not the powerful hand mixer I was expecting. In addition, the beaters are rattle-y, especially one beater which doesn't sit squarely in the housing and vibrates terribly. I have to clean up splatters each time I use it. I expect more from a Kitchen Aid.

Had this hand mixer for 15+ years

I got this mixer probably 15+ years ago. Before I got this mixer I went through 2 other name brand mixers in a week one was my moms from 1970, I went through them trying to make biscotti and spritz cookies for Christmas. They all burnt out. When I got this mixer It was my first kitchenaid as soon as I started mixing the dough I saw and felt the difference this mixer had no problem going through the biscotti and spritz cookie dough. Now I own several kitchenaids And still adding more. I recently donated this mixer to a wonderful charity and knew who ever got this mixer would love it as much as I do and have it for many years to come.
Love how quiet it is compared to my old one.

I got this product for Christmas just recently opened it and there were no beaters in it so I can't really rate it but I'm going to rate it as low as possible because I can't use it

beware of plastic pieces
from twin cities, mn
This mixer had been quite good until yesterday when my wife was making cookies for our son's birthday and noticed a small chip of plastic in one of the cookies. We examined the mixer and noticed that plastic piece into which the mixers insert had chipped off. Fortunately, we think we found all the pieces but it was startling to say the least. We have a Kitchenaid dishwasher and refrigerator so this isn't an indictment of the brand, just our mixer.

Bought this as a starter mixer for my daughter, but this has no power at all.
