Comments about Kitchen-Aid KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:
Started off great. After a year about all the wheels ca,e off literally. On the bottom drawer, the wheel axle came out as it was made of plastic and eventually all fell off. The top shelve slider bearings started to fall off as well. Thankfully I bought 4 years extended warranty. After they replaced all of the above, not even a year has passed and one wheel came off again. Just today the dishwasher gave in and stopped working. Another service call. Hopefully they can fix it.I should have stuck with Bosch.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Top quality - great looks and function!
from Oakland, OR
We've had this for about a month now, and I'm very pleased that we got it. Very quiet and does a great job too! Lots of cycle options to choose from and easy to use.

Super quiet, some good options for flexible use.
from Beaverton, OR
We put this dishwasher in, as a part of our Kitchen remodel. The ask was primarily for something quiet and efficient. This dishwasher met both objectives. The top shelf is adjustable, which allows for the use of another upper tray, which enables washing of things like chopsticks, or utensils that don't seem to fit elsewhere easily. The only item I would suggest as a drawback though, having the adjustable shelf is a struggle for the majority of our dinner dishes being too high - that means we often don't have the capability to put the third shelf in the unit. So most times now, we don't both moving it. This would be a tough ask to fix, being the size of the internal unit doesn't give you much room to do much else. The drawer is a great idea, doesn't always work in practice though. It is easy enough to clean, and to be honest, when its running - without checking the status light, you sometimes don't even realize its operating.
Quiet as a mouse

The dishwasher came with the newly built home I purchased. This is the best dishwasher I have ever owned. It is so quiet , I forget I had run a cleaning cycle. The dishes come out very clean and dry.

we have KitchenAid for all our appliances that came with the new house. The dishwasher specifically is very impressive, as it cleans very well And is the quietest dishwasher we ever owned. One slight con is that it could dry a little bit better but still very good
Pump and Heater failed in 20 months
from Charlotte NC
This was installed new into my new build house, but within 18 months it started to have problems cleaning and after 20 months I've had to replace the pump and heater costing me almost $600 - I almost told them to take it away and purchase a different make. Before it failed it cleaned OK, only occasionally had to re-wash.
GREAT DISHWASHER !
from POWELL OHIO
I LOVE THIS DISHWASHER. PURCHASED AND INSTALLED IT MYSELF. VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD AND EASY ACCESSES.. THE UNIT IS VERY QUIET! THE SHINY STAINLESS INTERIOR LOOKS GREAT AND CLEAN, IT ALSO HAS A CLEAN SMELL AFTER A WASH CYCLE HAS COMPLETED. THE DISH RACKS LOAD EASILY AND THE TOP RACK IS ADJUSTABLE FOR THOSE DEEP PLASTIC STORAGE CONTAINERS AND TALL GLASSES. I USUALLY LOAD PLATES, PANS AND SILVERWARE ON THE LOWEST RACK, I REALLY LIKE THE SILVERWARE BASKET THAT CAN HOLD LONGER UTENSILS ,AND KNIVES. EVERYTHING COMES OUT CLEAN AND SHINEY !

We have extremely hard water here in Arizona, yet my dishes always come out clean and sparkling. My wife and kids seem to like letting food harden on the dishes, but thi dishwasher still gets the job done. I have a family of 6 and we are able to fit the day's dishes in this model and run it once a day. Unless, of course, the kids try using a different glass every time they get a drink. One thing to note is be careful of any dishes getting broken when taking them out or putting them in. A dish broke on our counter top while taking it out of the dishwasher and a piece of the dish got caught in the dishwashers drain. I could not find it and had to call a service man.
LOVE my dishwasher
Especially love the third tray. Lots of space and does a great job. Looks beautiful in my kitchen.

This machine cleans really well and is so quiet you forget it is running. The controls on the top as opposed to the front eliminate the possibly of it inadvertently being turned on or off, which happened often with my previous machine. I am not a fan of the 3rd rack as it takes up valuable space needed for taller items, but it can be removed. More adjustable tines on upper and lower rack are needed for spacing flexibility.
