Overall Pleased, But Sad it Doesn't Have a Rack..
from Lexington, KY
Comments about KitchenAid 1.5 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave - Stainless Steel:
I wasn't able to see this actual microwave in the store when I purchased it, but the store had a convection microwave that went above a range/stovetop. I assumed that this would be similar without the fan. I was very disappointed to discover that it doesn't come with a rack, so you can put a rectangular dish in the oven, which I was expecting to be able to do with the convection microwave, especially since an older convection microwave I had also had a rack. This makes it very limiting to use the convection oven part. I wish I had realized it. I would have purchased a different one. That said, it works well for everything else.

Beautiful, and loads of features!
I've been using my new micro/convection for about 2 weeks now. It is very very beautiful, and I have actually used the convection features more than the micro. There was a learning curve, but I'm getting more familiar with it. I've baked rolls in it, they came out great, same did the pork chops last night. The only thing I would change is I would add a handle. Without a handle, you have to touch the stainless to close it, and you have to slam it. So then you have to polish the stainless where you touched it, if you want it to look nice. Also, if it had a handle, you can close the door more gently. (our last one had a handle, so I do miss that)
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I am very disappointed in the convection oven. When I tried to bake in it, it burned the outside of the dish. I do not think the fan was working. Did I do something wrong, or is the oven defective?
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Overall Size and Performance
By Eazy Cook

Would have liked it to be a little larger like my old Panasonic (Not available in this model) Reheating my cup of coffee takes 15 seconds longer than my last microwave of same wattage. Very noisy door closing latch. Wakes family up in middle of the night.

Well built micro
from Santa Clara
We remodeled our kitchen/dining area and replaced all the appliances with Kitchenaid, including our built-in microwave. Nice clean professional look, solid feel, and its working great.

I bought it a month a go and love it

This unit replaced our GE microwave of 16 years. I hope it lasts as long. The controls are easy to use, but I miss the feature of instant button push for up to 6 minutes that we had on the GE. It is also very quiet — a definite plus. The only appearance problem is the door fit. The first unit we received had a problem where the door was not aligned properly. The top of the door was hitting the frame. This unit is better but now the door sticks out a bit compared to the edge where the controls are. It did not seem worth trying a third so we will just live with it.

Great Quality Microwave
By JC Georgia
I love the sensor feature - you don't have to guess how long to heat something up-it heats it up just right. You can also grill, bake and broil in this microwave.

so far so good!
I bought this a month ago and have only used the microwave feature. And it works great! I thought having the convection feature would take away from the microwave power but it doesn't! It is very quiet also

Worked fine for 14 months
from Blanco, Texas
I am very disappointed that this only worked for 14 months and now the microwave function doesn't work. The timer and convection still work but what we use the most is the microwave. I am even more disappointed that KitchenAid said there is no repair even if I wanted to pay for repair. They sell no parts for this except turntable and glass or racks but, as for the microwave oven, it's a throw-away. How can we be sending so much stuff to junk yards? I think this is totally irresponsible to not have a repair program for an item that is so new.
