Comments about KitchenAid 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave - Black with Stainless Steel:
I bought my kitchen aid Microwave a few ago and just love it. It cooks so evenly unlike the one of a different brand that I have had and re-bought for years. The safety feature on it saying "door" is a welcome addition to make sure there really is something in to micro when you don't immediately put in an item. Fresh veggies cook on SC and are crisp without getting overdone.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Bought it last month and very satisfied. Sensor Cooking works great. Very roomy. I wish it had the one touch express buttons for 1 minute etc.

This is a great little microwave! It is compact, yet I can heat a good-sized meal quickly! It runs reasonably quietly, and is easy to operate.
good but a little pricey
from Greenwood, IN
This works very well, and I like the featurs on it, but I think it is a little pricey for a microwave.
Good looking, sturdy, but some issues
This is a nice sturdy and professional looking model. Have concerns that the microwave shuts down for no reason particularly when popping microwave popcorn. And when I say it shuts down, it completely shuts down...after a few minutes it resets itself, but then you have to re-program.

A mocrowave oven with flaws
from Baton Rouge
The best that can be said of this microwave oven is that it reheats and cooks well. It does, however, have some features that are annoying and troublesome. 1. The plastic door and flimsy latch do not provide a sense of quality or longevity. They scream "cheap". 2, When the timer cycle is complete, the display reads END instead of reverting back to the time of day. A reset is needed to have the time displayed. To me. this seems an unnecessary requirement. 2. The touchpad requires more effort than a "touch" to make an entry. The insensitivity is annoying. In contrast, my KitchenAid oven has a very responsive, silky-smooth touchpad.I guess that I was spoiled by my 1990's vintage Amana Radarange. Too bad it was wearing out.

I have a 5 month old #1655 microwave that does not heat. The magnetron is broken. The appliance store was not able to help (other than to tell me it normally takes 24-48 hrs. to resolve after a call to KA). I spoke to KA service Thursday 9-8-16. As of Monday 9-12-16 no answer. I called a service agent again who told me I may not hear anything for 7 days. A microwave has become a daily used appliance. Used more than an oven. Why so long KitchenAid? Not enough folks in the call center or too many broken products?
This microwave in the trim kit is BEAUTIFUL
from Centennial CO
So far so good. So attractive stainless steal with matching trim kit mounted in wall above my new Kitchen aid oven. They are amazing together. It is not overwhelming, easy to use, and I love the large capacity. I have only had the unit 2 weeks so I hope it lasts for a long time. I have had two Whirlpool Gold units and both lasted about 3-5 years. I am hoping their Kitchen Aid micro will last longer but will have to wait and see. Right now I LOVE the unit.
Everything you expect
from Sidney, NE
Simple design, easy to use, easy to clean. Everything you expect in a microwave. Very happy with purchase.
This microwave scares me.
from St. Charles, MO
Purchased this microwave along with a KitchenAid refrigerator and Jenn Air oven for our recent kitchen remodel. Almost immediately, the microwave started to fail. Most times, when you press start, nothing happens and you have to cancel the operation, open the microwave, and try again. Other times, the microwave just starts on its own.....pretty scary. I've always had good luck in the past with KitchenAid appliances, but their quality has definitely slipped. That shouldn't happen when pay a premium for their products.
