It is larger than the measurement for necessary space. The space I have is the right size but the refrigerator is not requiring alot of fitting at a great expense. I also ordered built in oven and cook top and had the same problem with them both larger than stated in the required specs. I have had to cut and alter cabinets and granite countertops and drywall. Make sure you have larger than stated openings and a qualified installer. The appliance company could not do the install so I have had to hire it done privately again very expensive installation after the cost of very expensive appliances.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long term review We bought this refrigerator three years ago during the beginning of the pandemic, we were impressed with the lighting, the space, the ice maker, the overall build quality, and how quiet it is. It's definitely a ten thousand dollar refrigerator, and you feel rich just standing there and opening the doors. It has been mostly reliable, until some insulation came loose and clogged the drain tube, we had water all over the floor for weeks until a repair service came out and fixed it. Then a couple of months ago some of the LED lights went out, they're easy to replace you can find them online. Other than these two issues, it has performed pretty well and we're really happy with it.

The KitchenAid 24.3 cu ft refrigerator worked for a few days. Then the freezer melted and water was everywhere. The refrigerator wasn't cooling and the freezer wasn't freezing. Repair from the appliance store repaired a faulty freezer seal, but it still had the same issues, so repairmen returned and found the fan not working and ordered a new one.They returned to install and found the control panel was not working. Store was asking KitchenAid to replace, but nothing happened so the store replaced it with a new one. The new one works great and I really like the refrigerator. BUT I am disappointed that KitchenAid was not more responsive.

We had this refrig in 2008 and have had all the problems mentioned by others, Doors don't close properly,Cracks on inside trim.  My question is HAVE YOU IMPROVED TODAYS MODEL OF YOUR 42 inch REFRIGERATOR?  We are shopping for a new one. Thank you!
