DANGEROUS STOVE AND OVEN - DO NOT BUY!!!!!!
By Rebecca, the disappointed cook
from Springboro, Ohio
Comments about KitchenAid 30" Slide-In Electric Range - Stainless Steel:
Let me start with the stove top - at least it heats up quickly and cooks properly. But despite having a lovely touch screen, with a locking feature, to control the two ovens, this stove has knobs on the front to control the cook top but no safety feature to lock them. A child can walk by and turn on the cooktop in the blink of an eye. Now the ovens, if you can call them that. The first thing I had problems with was the baking or rather burning drawer. It does not close properly or retain heat. But it will get hot enough to heat your house. Everything, and I do mean everything I have attempted to bake or even keep warm has burned. But, the drawer will not even stay shut. I have had two service calls about this and another matter. The suggestion was to prop a 5lb bag of flour or sugar against the drawer to keep it shut. ????????? But no matter, the hot air leaching from it is a danger to both children and adult. Next the oven. Where do I begin? I was warned that it would be slow to heat and reach temperature but I was not prepared for 20 min to a half hour for higher temperatures. But once it finally did reach temperature, the temperature of the house raised and the oven itself was hot to touch on the outside. Plus the cabinets next to the stove are also warm to touch. It has become the family joke that for Thanksgiving and Christmas we would have doors and windows open, in OH, to attempt to cool the house down from over 80 degrees. Then there is the food. I am a decent cook but I can't seem to get a decent meal using this oven. Something is always either burned or undercooked no matter where I place the oven racks. This past weekend, my husband got out a thermometer with a probe on the end and held it near the oven door. With the door closed and the thermometer NOT touching the stove, the temperature raised to 150 degrees. That is the heat coming out of the oven with the door closed. It is enough to burn a child. The stove is a high end lemon and DANGEROUS!!!!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Christmas Cookie Champ!!!
Christmas cookies are a family tradition that spans 3 generations and this range passed the test with flying colors. The oven baked evenly and beautifully, keep in mind this tradition is not just a few cookies and for 1 day of baking. The tradition is baking thousands of cookies over several days. I was worried my new range would pass this test. I had nothing to worry about, I recommend this range.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

It does not bake properly

Got this 10 days ago and have been very pleased with its performance. The rapid boil element really is faster than a traditional element, though don't expect boiling water in mere seconds; it just cuts a few minutes off the regular amount of time. The warming element is a nice feature, as are the ultra low heat/melt burner and the triple burner. I find the elements continue to hold heat for quite a while after turning them off; I turn the burner off after boiling down my rice, instead of leaving it on low for the rice to steam to a finish. Water spatters that have dried on the cooktop don't come off with a cloth; you need to use a soapy nylon scrubber (my stove came with one), but with the scrubber, they come off very easily, no elbow grease needed. I had read reviews that the baking drawer took 2 hours to reach 350 degrees and even then was not hot enough to bake. I haven't baked in mine yet, but when I heated the drawer to 400 degrees to burn off the new oven smell, it reached 400 degrees in about 10 minutes. The roll out rack in the main oven is a pleasure to use; it glides out silently at the touch of a finger, like magic! I used all 3 racks at the same time to roast a triple batch of potato wedges. Using the convection bake, it took the same amount of time my old non-convection oven did for 2 racks. The huge viewing window is lovely and clear, making it easy to check on the food inside the oven. Getting rid of smears and fingerprints on the stainless steel takes a bit of rubbing, but it's not impossible. I love the chunky knobs on the stove front. Overall, this stove feels like a high end upgrade compared to my previous 21 year old GE Profile stove, and I'm very pleased with it.

Updated my appliances and cose the kitchenaid refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and trash compactor. This stove is so much more efficent tgen my old stove. Sleek design ans ease of use. My first big meal was Thanksgiving dinner. I especially enjoyed having the lower oven unit.

Overall great range

Used for a year now. Cooktop easy to maintain. Oven roomy. Small, lower cooking drawer. Could use more height as muffins, cupcakes don't have much room to rise.

Do not Buy TOO HOT
from The Villages, FL
This oven is dangerous!!!!!!!!!!! I turned the oven on 350 to test it out because the builder needed a punch list. It took some time to heat up. But once it did, Holy smoke Batman! I set the timer for 1 hour because this is a very typical time and temperature I use. OH MY GOSH. The unit is so HOT on the entire front door and control panel. Along the cabinets beside the oven. It is so hot that you instinctively pull your hand away. It took over an hour to cool off. Of course I had a repair man out. He literally slid a piece of paper between the oven door and pulled it out. He said it is working as it should and said that's all he can do. He told me to call Whirlpool/Kitchenaid customer service. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN OR PETS.

I love the stove in many ways it heats quickly, gooks evenly, controls are a little too sensitive.I am a big kitchenaid fan everything in my old house was kitchen aid and the same when we moved. And this is the first time i feel I need to write a review. The aqua clean does not work I ran it 4 times and the dirt around the probe will not come off no matter how hard i try to clean it, it is awkward to see, because the lights are shining in my eyes. There are other areas that are the same. I do not want to use chemicals can you recommend another way to get this clean like the old days when it just got hot and when done perfectly clean?
from Dayton, OH
Thus far the stove top and oven(s) work great. We absolutely love the baking drawer; just the right size for the two of us without having to use the large oven on hot days. The only drawback is the hyper sensitive control panel on the top of the range. It makes it hard to clean the stove top after each use and is always turning something on making us scramble to locate the cancel control.
