Comments about KitchenAid 30" Slide-In Induction Range - Stainless Steel:
We just installed this oven last week, and broke it in over the weekend. Gas is not an option, and a standard electric would have been good enough (as it has been for the last 40 years of my life), but this is a treat. The water for pasta boiled in less than 4 minutes. The controls are intuitive. The oven is HUGE... not huge enough for a full sheet pan, but HUGE. It matches the HUGE oven window - it's wonderful. Thanksgiving is gonna be a snap. We love to cook, and we love this oven (is that too much love)?
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is our third induction stove. Love it! We won't use any other kind of stove. Haven't used all the features in this model yet, but we are quite happy with it.
I must caveat this with saying I have only had this for about a month. I have only had the opportunity to use the stove top and not the oven. So I can't really comment on that. I have never had an induction stove top before. I have used electric and gas. Gas is more intuitive but this is very close and once you get use to it you will probably find it just as nice. I was not able to use gas in my new home without prohibitive cost so I decided to try induction. I don't know yet if it saves on electric but it does heat up faster and brings water to a boil faster. You do need to assure you have the right kind of pans. I bought some new and they work really great. Once you get use to which settings are high, medium, low and when to adjust it is more comfortable to use. I like the controls (all electronic) on the top as they are out of the way. Also you can lock them so they can't accidently be turned on. In addition you have to select power first before anything can be turned on. I am alone and so do limited preparation but am liking this so far and pretty easy cleanup. Very nice looking. I have heard that convection ovens are better for meals than baking but I can't comment on this one since I haven't used it yet. If you have never used induction and you want or need an electric powered appliance and can accommodate getting new pans if necessary then at this point I would recommend this over a normal electric stove for use and probably energy savings. It is much more expensive though so you need to weigh that.
Great Stove with Cosmetic Issues
I bought this stove and when it got delivered to me, the silicone surrounding the glass top was done very poorly. It looked like some stuck their nails into it in multiple places. In addition, there were defects in the glass. It was supposed to come with a wireless meat probe which never came and I am told it is on back order. I received a replacement and this one is much better. but still no wireless probe.

Love the induction, but hoping to get pots/pans soon...
from San Jose, CA
So far, I'm loving the induction stove. And the oven cooks things perfectly. However, I'm not loving that I don't yet have pots/pans to cook with. When I purchased this stove there was a program set up to receive a new 7-piece set of KitchenAid cookware. It's been about 2-3 weeks, and I still have not received the pots/pans so currently I only have a small cast iron pot and my tea kettle to work with in the meantime... A bit frustrating that the wait to receive the pots/pans is 6-8 weeks.
Love inductioin cooking

Bought this about 1 month ago and so far we love everything about it, with the exception of how hot the front of the stove top gets when backing something

Love my Range
from Greenland, NH
I bought this two months ago, and absolutely love this range. After having induction previously in my last house, I knew that is exactly what I wanted and I am glad that I went with the KitchenAid. It is very easy to use!

We have been absolutelly amazed at the speed at witch a pan will heat up or water will boil. We initially wanted gaz, but since gaz was not available on our street we would have had to have a propane reservoir installed (leased) in addition to the installation, replenishement, lease cost, etc it became to expensive. The industion does the same, if not faster as well as the various heat control to get down to simmer. The only negative so far is we find the oven to heat-up slower that what we were accostomed to. Noting major but needs to be taken in consideration when pre-heating for baking.
