Love Cooking on This
from Tomball TX
Comments about KitchenAid 36" Gas Cooktop - Stainless Steel:
We love our 6 burner gas cooktop. The only issue that we have is with the installation. The cabinet people and the granite people cut to the exact specs of the cooktop; however, the cooktop itself shows its dimensions as 1/4" smaller than the measurements which causes a side to side "shimmy" movement.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great cook top
Easy to install and elegant to look at. I was able to install this cool top without utilizing the instructions to about 90% completion. I tried to figure out how to use the retaining brackets in order to pull the cooktop down to the cabinet but I couldn't find any instructions on this procedure. After install we had just a few adjustments to the gas settings. Wow what a dream to cook on. Lights easy and stays surprisingly clean. Only improvement I would make on this product would be better interlocking of the cooking grates so they won't shift around.

Looks doesn't work, feels like high altitude cooking high
By Maverick the runner
This cooktop has been installed by the builder, we have upgraded to this one thinking it's good design but really useless inefficient design. It takes lot of gas to boil food. Have used other kitchen aid products and they were top notch. Grills are way high. Please let me know how to fix this design issue. We are unable to cook efficiently.

Purchased a couple of weeks ago. Replaced an older GE, and would not look back. Front to back burners are a bit tight, but side to side room is GREAT!
Nice range... some design concerns
from Vienna, VA
This range came in our house which is new construction. I like the 6 burner range all of the burners are fairly large and powerful. I really like there is black metal under the burners so you dont have dirty looking stainless steel under there after some use. The thing I do not like is the front "shelf" area between the burners and knobs is a non-coated stainless steel and scratches VERY EASILY. I have been very careful cooking on this range and I already have a couple scuffs and scratches. If you are the type of person that will be upset by this (I am) then I would not buy this range, it will give a lot of anxiety to cook on it. This top piece should have been designed with a scratch resistant coating at the very least.

My husband convinced me to get a gas cooktop in our new home. I didn't understand why he wanted one so bad until we cooked on it. I was pleasantly surprised by how much faster the cooking time was and how much better the food actually tasted. Looks and works great!

Very nice cooktop!

I have been using my new cooktop for a couple weeks now and am enjoying it very much. My former gas range had a grate that was located too close to the flame and it was difficult to keep food from burning. My new Kitchen Aid has a more elevated grate and cooks more evenly. The downside of this is it takes longer to boil water and heat up some food. However, I have been trying the different burner options and figuring out which is best for each pan, and it is getting better. I LOVE and the cooking space for multiple items! Glad I purchased this item.
