Rinse Aid Required
from Orchard Park
Comments about KitchenAid KDFE204EBL Dishwasher:
Resent the fact that rinse aid must be used in order for the dishes to be effectively dried. Another expense incurred in order to wash dishes and utilize this dishwasher. Never required in previous dishwashers and dishes being totally dried not was not an issue. That dishwasher (Whirlpool) lasted 23 years without so much as ever requiring a service call. Can only hope this one lasts as long. Since we do not run the dishwasher unless someone is home and awake, with these long cycles we have to plan accordingly.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This dishwasher cleans beautifully.

I love my new dishwasher! The small rack at the top is wonderful for wooden spoons, spatulas etc. I use that feature every day. It washes much better than my old washer and I am very, very pleased with it's performance.
So far so good ...VERY QUIET

Our family has been using this for about 2 months and it is providing excellent cleaning, is easy to use, and is very quiet. We chose this over a brand new Bosch, which was an excellent machine as well, but it left the dishes too wet after the wash. My wife was not too happy about that and [to save the marriage :) :) :)], it was clear what I needed to do very quickly. We have twins & triplets who are teenagers and they operate this machine with ease. This is our 2nd Kitchenaid dishwasher and is even better than the first one. Hopefully, it will give us many years of service, but with the way things are made nowadays, we'll be lucky if it makes it past 7 years. It's worth price and dries the dishes well.
Fantastic in a Country Home

My 16year old Kitchen Aid dishwasher finally hit the dust! We have only well water (do have a water softener) but always have had trouble with film on glassware, etc. My new Kitchen Aid is wonderful-all dishes come out sparkling! I've rewashed all glassware and they're beautiful! Also like the the pull out tray on top-great for silverware, plastic lids, etc. It's very quiet and only negative is that it takes 2+hours to do a load-but result is worth it!
