love the quiet when it's washing!
from Beavercreek, OH
Comments about KitchenAid KDFE204ESS Dishwasher:
I didn't realize how noisy my old JennAir was until I ran the new KitchenAid. Love the top "skinny rack" & the adjustable middle rack. The only problem I'm having, is how to shut the drying cycle "off"
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

As advertised, the machine is very quiet when running.
from Annapolis, MD
This machine replaced an older Kitchen Aid dishwasher that had been in use for 12 years as part of an upgrade to the kitchen. The adjustable configuration racks and the easily inspected and cleaned filter are a bonus, and the cleaning performance is first rate. The only drawback that we see is the lack of a mechanically positive door latch that gives a solid indication that the door is closed.

Only one significant flaw so far

We have had our dishwasher for a couple of weeks and so far so good. My only complaint is that the touch panel is very exposed and it is to brush against the panel and start the machine inadvertently.

I enjoy this dishwasher
KDFE204ESS - Quiet but otherwise poor design. Avoid models w
from morgan hill ca
This dishwasher runs quiet but the design of the racks makes it a poor choice. To allow the washing of wine glasses either the upper rack must be kept in the lower position (prevents washing dinner plates) or the third level rack must be removed (best option). Putting the upper rack in the lower position prevents the washing of dinner plates in the lower rack as the arm for the upper rack will hit the dinner plates on the lower rack. The manual indicates the upper rack has fold down tines. Our rack has all tines fixed. Drying is uneven.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I have been using it for less than a week but so far so good
Great features, but the drying is poor
from Levis, QC
I bought my dishwasher three weeks ago. It works well, but I am disappointed with the drying - all flat surfaces are wet, and of courses plastic dishes as well. My old dishwasher was more efficient.

So glad I selected this brand
Very quiet dishwasher
from Port St. Joe, FL
This dishwasher is great. It is very quiet and the dishes come out clean and looking great. The third slide out rack is great for lids, knives, spatulas, and anything that is flat. Be careful when emptying that rack, some lids hold water. The sensiwash cycle worked very well. I did put in a pot that I used to make rice and it did not come out completely clean. Perhaps on the pro-scrub cycle it would have. Have yet to try that feature which is one reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Also, the racks are very sturdy. My son's dog got his collar hung up on the rack when he came to see what I was doing. When called away he pulled the whole rack (loaded with plates) on the floor. Nothing broke on the rack and not a single dish was broken.I would have liked to have had two rows of tines that I could move for the larger dishes, but one is better than none.
