Comments about KitchenAid KDTE204EBL Dishwasher:
Replaced a slowly failing unit. Works great, easy to use and the quietest dishwasher we have ever owned.

So far it's great compared to my 15 year old dishwasher

Only time will tell, but two of the best features are the lifting and lowering middle rack, and the removable 3rd rack. However, the parts that you have to use to move the middle rack, or remove the third rack seem pretty cheep and rickety, which is too bad for a $800 dishwasher. For today, it's fabulous! I love it! Unfortunately, I will be very surprised if I do not need to repair the parts/ mechanism used to adjust the racks before too long. I seriously doubt they will last 2 years let alone 15. Wish me luck. Everything else seems quite good. The noise level is nearly nonexistent. My kids didn't think I had turned it on yet. lol. That's pretty good! It washes well, but you can't exactly just throw dishes in with anything but chunks of food on it. It does need to at least need to be rinsed of the dirtier, heavier soiled food.
So far so good...

I just installed before a big holiday party and. It worked like a charm. Much better than the 2yr old DCS it replaced.
A poor design on the third rack...
from South Florida
Overall, I am more or less satisfied with the dishwasher however, the third culinary rack interferes with the middle rack when you load cereal bowls. This is because there is not enough height between the two racks. And if you lower the middle rack you cannot load dinner plates because there is not enough height between the lower and the middle rack. Being an engineer and having worked with "Human Factors" in product design this is a very poor design. Also, the button sound "beep" is not load enough and the wrong frequency for most people to hear

We have had this dishwasher less than 10 months and once again, we are having issues. The first one we purchased only lasted a week, as it was not draining properly. Thankfully, our appliance store replaced it free of charge. Now, the control panel is not working. We started having issues with it a few months ago, and assumed the panel was sensitive and the buttons needed to be pushed directly on the sensors. Finally, today, the start button will not work. And we now have to wait over a week for someone to take a look at it during the busy holiday season! Please do your research on other sites . . . they are many complaints about the control panels going out.

We bought this dishwasher to replace a GE that we had had for 10 years. We were happy with our previous dishwasher and thought it was doing a great job- until we started using the new Kitchenaid. Wow! This dishwasher is so quiet that we do not believe it is even on. The dishes are crystal clean and our glasses look brand new. We are so glad that we made this purchase!
Quietest dishwasher out there
By Dishwasher hands
Moved on from an LG to the quietest dishwashers out there. I could not believe how quiet this dishwasher is and I could not believe it was on. Only the flashing blue led is your indication that it is running. Cleans all our dishes completely and love the smooth racks!
Seems solid has a tank. glides move with ease. spacing in racks allows water to hit our dishes. Bosch didn't - too tight.

We replaced a GE contractor grade (horrible) dishwasher with this gem. I have learned through the years that the racks are very important. These racks hold a lot of dishes and cookware. They are also on ball bearing slides rather than plastic wheels. Everything is high quality and made in the USA. It is extremely quiet; you almost can't tell that it is running. There is a light on the front that changes color depending on the cycle. It is "white" when the wash is completed. However, to run this quietly, there is a filter that must be removed and cleaned periodically (hold it under running faucet). I remove all food before loading, so once every several months should be sufficient. This product is expensive, but we got a great deal during Black Friday sale.
