We've had this dishwasher for about a month. It does an okay, but not great, job on the dishes. The racks glide nicely, but it is hard to load anything other than plates for in the bottom rack. I find I have to wash my pots and large bowls by hand because the do not fit, or disrupt the flow of water and then the dishes come out with food stuck on them. The light is nice, the door is kind of stupid (my husband insisted) and at times increases the noise level of the dishwasher (especially when there are metal bowls in the the wash). Overall, not the best dishwasher I've ever had.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I received this dishwasher about a week ago. It does a great job "doing the dishes" as well as being the quietest dishwasher I've ever had. One of the reasons I selected this model over another Kitchenaid was the fact that it has a window in the door. If I had to buy another one tomorrow, I'd buy the same model but without the window. Once the door is closed, the lights go off an you cannot turn them on without opening the door or until the cycle is complete. To make it worse, the window is tinted and you can't see anything through it with holding a light against it. It's not a big deal except this model costs more than the exact same model without the window. Not worth the extra money. I bought it mainly to wash, not 'watch', dishes and it does that perfectly.

Bought this to replace a 25 year old dishwasher. It's great how much quieter it is and how much room is in it compared to my old one. The old one still worked, but was replaced as part of a remodeling project. Hope this one lasts 25 years!

This dishwasher has it all. It is a beautiful machine to look at and the performance is incredible. I have a tankless electric water heater that is not always capable of supplying 120 degree water. However, this dishwasher will heat the water to 150 degrees if the Hi Temp Wash option is selected. This feature saved me hundreds of dollars as I do not have to revert back to a tank type water heater. This dishwasher is amazingly quiet. All dishes, pots, pans, and casseroles come out incredibly clean. As with any dishwasher, it is important to use a great dishwasher detergent such as Cascade Complete or Platinum.
Perfect for our kitchen

Extremely quiet. Loads a lot of dishes which was important in selecting a dishwasher. Using pods for the first time, as well as a rinse additive. Dishes seem to sparkle. Using the handle to hang dish towel but finding that it hits the floor when the door is fully open.
Unique Look, Kitchen Aid Performance
from Ft. Myers, FL
We are updating a 9 year old homes kitchen, and went with some upscale appliances. Kitchen Aid is our "go-to" manufacturer for dishwashers, after having too many breakdowns from Bosch. This Kitchen Aid unit performs as expected, which is excellent. It is quiet, has a unique look, with a diamond cut handle, the window in door, and love the fact that it lights up when you open the door to load or unload, and when the cycle is finished. The cycle countdown timer is not visible when operating, which would be nice, but for a clean look, they put it on the top of the door. The light, however is not on when the unit is operational, wish it was. Minor things, with such a good product. Install was strait forward, and no issues. The rack design works well, and the ability to lower or raise the top rack is nice. We have had nice, clean dishes, and the heated dry is a plus, unlike the other "quiet" brand.

Gets everything clean! Ultra quiet well worth the money. I wish there were a way to activate the light during a wash. Other than that excellent.
Very nice dishwasher

Have only had the dishwasher a few weeks now, but am very happy with it. As well as it cleans, it does not do quite as good as I had hoped with stuck on food, but still wouldn't trade it. Everybody comments on how neat the window is, even though I am not sure it serves any real purpose other than appearance. Completely satisfied so far.
