The ovens run cold.
By Kristin the baker
from Wayne, PA
I like everything about our new double ovens except that they run very cold and the instructions just say to get used to it. I have had to do a bunch of test batches of baked items that require specific heat settings to figure out how to adjust my recipes. I have baked the same recipes for over 40 years in various ovens of various makes and ages, and I have never had the same issues I am having with these ovens. I will figure it out eventually but it is disappointing.

Heat venting during/after use
from St. Charles, MO
I just had my double wall oven installed on Friday. Looks great. Bakes good so far, but here's my problem. During baking and after during the "oven cooling down" cycle, hot air is vented from below the lower oven into the kitchen. The temperature of the air coming out the vent is 105 degrees F, while the oven is in use and for an hour after it gradually decreases to room temperature. It does this when using either the upper or lower oven. Is this normal? While I might like this feature during cold months, it is not a good feature when the temperature outside is hot and the home air conditioner is on.

We are so glad we chose this double oven. It is great for cooking for large groups of people or just baking. It cooks evenly and quickly. I don't have enough good things to say about it!

Nice ovens, only 30 days old and they look great in our new kitchen, BUT, had issue out of the box with the lower oven preheating and temp stability. Calls to KitchenAid/Whirlpool ultimately took several calls and much time waiting on hold for assistance. First call ended with a repair company declining to do the work because of travel distance. KitchenAid/Whirlpool didn't follow up which resulted in a second call only to find out no one knew anything about the first call and once that was sorted out a second repair service was contacted and also declined the job because of distance, so a third call was necessary. The third call ended up with a repair service being called that was about 30 miles further away than the first two companies called. The third repair service ended up being Graig's Appliance Service in South Boston, VA. He worked me into his schedule and made the trip. He checked the oven heating according to factory instruction and determined that when the preheat tone sounded that the oven was not at temp that it should be. Allowing the oven to preheat longer (20 to 25 minutes) would end up producing the correct range of heat when starting to cook. Graig did good work and it was a pleasure to have him here. Ultimately the company said the oven was within specification.

i've had 2 of these oven within 6 weeks and the inside lining splintered off into the oven on both of them. it's plastic.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I had a double oven years ago and am so happy to have one again. The individual ovens are quite large so you are able to cook a really large meal all at once.
