OUT OF Warranty!
Comments about LG 2.0 Cu. Ft. Over-The-Range Microwave - Stainless Steel:
I loved this microwave. The Extenda-Vent is a great feature. However, although the unit vents to the outside and I have changed the grease filter. It drips grease. And I replaced the grease filter last August! And now the front of the Extenda-Vent just fell off onto the hot stove! Only 3.5 years old!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

QUIT WORKING AFTER 18 MONTHS

After 18 months the microwave stopped heating. Not happy at all with LG appliances. Last microwave we had which was NOT LG lasted 8 years. Very upset that we now have to purchase a new microwave. By the time you spend the money to fix it, its cheaper to buy a new one. For what we paid for this it definitely should have not quit after only 18 months!!
Poor Extenda vent and push buttons. poor clock

the extenda vent has broken twice. once under warranty and now broken again. bad design. buttons don't work. clock doesn't work. the numeric screen is on sometimes, off others. do not buy this microwave!!

Purchased 10/13. Morning of 1/19/16 stopped heating. Everything worked except it wouldn't cook. Only had 2 yrs & 4 mos. and the Magnetron quit working. Even though it has a 10 yr warranty, the service call & labor was going to cost almost as much as a brand new one, so we bought a brand new microwave!

Lasted for 18 month and then it fryed up. Not a very happy customer. Can't recommend this model.
I installed this microwave for my 73 year old mother who used it occasionally. It died 13 months later. Awful product. Stay away from LG appliances.

PRODUCT COMPLETELY DIED AFTER 14 MONTHS OF SERVICE:-( WE TRAVEL ALOT & FIGURE THAT WE HAVE ONLY BEEN HOME 6 MONTHS OF THE 15 SINCE BUYING THIS HOUSE. 2 ADULTS, NO KIDS!
Horrible product, short life

I bought this unit and 14 months later (out of warranty) it decides to just stop working. The service call it $165 plus parts. I can buy a new unit for that kind of money. Won't buy an LG product again, very disappointed.

Worked great up until a few days ago when it just stopped heating and started making a loud noise. Warranty is no longer valid and finding someone in the area that fixes LG appliances is nearly impossible. Eventually, paying to repair makes no sense considering the price that was originally paid to purchase the appliance. Might as well buy a new one. If it breaks down good luck finding a place that can fix it for a reasonable price.

I like the ability to soften my butter for baking in the microwave. It is programmed for butter and then you add the number of sticks you are working with.
