Love this Frige!
from Southern Pines, NC, United States
Comments about LG 20.9 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel:
Bought this refrigerator in August 2013 and after almost three years it is still terrific. Not noisy, has plenty of room and flexibility of shelf placement. Drawers are easy to remove for rinsing. The Freezer portion, with the wire drawer is perfect for smaller items that could get buried in a large compartment. I would absolutely buy this again!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought my French Door Counter Depth Frig for my small kitchen over a year ago. I was looking for clean lines and sturdier quality which this has compared to other brands. Beautiful exterior. Naturally it's small inside given counter-depth. Crispers are not deep enough for celery. I'd suggest eliminating small middle drawer to provide two wider drawers (altho this might require opening both doors to use the drawers). Like other brands, to use full-width drawer requires opening both French doors. Pull-out shelves aren't necessary to me in a counter-depth frig (not deep enough) and could be eliminated to provide a little more shelf height for taller items so they don't have to be tipped to get on the shelf.Top freezer drawer only opens about half-way and therefore, is harder to use. Ice cube storage bin has a notched hole at the rear and if too full, ice cubes fall through the hole to the bottom of the freezer and sometimes out onto my hardwood floor, so I have to watch to avoid melting ice cubes on floor. Performance has been very good so far and compressor runs quietly and doesn't give off much heat..

We bought this to replace one in which the condenser was going, making a loud clunking sound sometimes when it shut off, plus it hummed when running. This LG is so quiet. I am really enjoying the newfound quietness in our home. We love the lighting, refrigerator space, interior and exterior design of this. It fits our space perfectly. We researched a long time and read consumer report reviews for many refrigerators before choosing this. We are very pleased with our purchase so far, and are confident it will perform well because of the Consumer Report reviews.
Great Features, Quiet, Great Looking

I've had this Fridge for about 3 years and it's the best fridge I've ever owned. Lots of room, I love the double doors at the top and the freezer drawer on the bottom.
Best counter depth!

While I hated paying more for less space, I'm convinced this is the best of what is out there. I love the look, the quiet operation, and the overall convenience. The vegetable bin needs to be deeper, cannot fit medium head of cabbage or lettuce. Possibly fewer but more usable bins? I had my last refrigerator for over 30 yrs., it was still working and that made it hard to change. Now that I have my beautiful new one, I'm thinking "why did I wait so long?"
Space Saving But Space Missed

I just love seeing my new refrigerator every time I walk in to the kitchen! I chose a counter depth model this time, as my kitchen is galley style, and previous refrigerators always stuck out too far in to the corridor. That said, things inside are a little tight. I wish the produce drawers were larger and deeper. They won't accommodate a large cabbage or an untrimmed stalk of celery. The middle produce drawer is nice but I would rather the space was added to the two other drawers. The lower full-width drawer for deli items only pulls out half way so you will have to sweep your hand to the back to find things, and sometimes you find something you forgot was in there. A brochure I looked at shows one shelf having a flip-up feature to make room for tall items, but I did not receive such a shelf. All my shelves are slide-out, a feature I find to be pointless with such a shallow fridge, but also a nuisance, as sometimes when you grab something from an upper shelf, it catches on the high front lip and you pull the shelf out with the item. Because the long drawer on the bottom sticks out as much as it does, the bottom door shelves are smaller than the other door shelves, making them harder to access and less useful. The door bins are not infinitely adjustable and the 1/2" in-turning lip at the top of each bin robs space. I would rather have another open bin rather than a dairy bin with hinged cover. Also, this fridge is only available in stainless steel. I would have been happy with a color, especially if it lowered the price.
Great looking, very quiet, well thought-out layout

There aren't a lot of choices in refrigerators that are counter-depth without through-the-door ice and water. Because of our kitchen design and the bad through-the-door ice and water experience we had with our last refrigerator, that's exactly what we wanted. This LG fit the bill perfectly.Pros: really great looking; excellent interior layout, especially the shelves and drawers; smooth working doors; good lighting; very quiet, (it's hard to tell when it's running); and an overall impression of quality fit and finish.Cons: the price (why do all the counter depth units cost more?). Lots of fragile looking plastic parts on the inside. (Nothing has broken yet, but we're treating everything with kid gloves.)Will it be reliable? Only time will tell. But so far, we really love this refrigerator.
