Comments about LG 24.09 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel:
This refrigerator is a great buy. The ice maker is built into the door so there's much more room inside.

Great unit so easy to access food and love the bottom freezer and still water and ice in the door! Even reminds me to close the door.

I've had this product for nine months. It is roomy, well lit, does a good job of keeping the correct temp and looks pretty. I like the way the shelves can be adjusted. The ice maker capacity is small but it does an excellent job of keeping up with demand without using precious compartment space.
Ice getting stuck in door
from Woodland, CA, United States
I bought this about 2 weeks ago and I returned it because the ice feature in the top portion of the door kept getting stuck and I had to chip it out with ice going everywhere. I read the manual and it said it needed constant use so it wouldn't freeze up but all 4 of us were using it and it still got stuck. Not sure if the ice was melting causing the ice to form one big ice then getting stuck. It was a big pain to deal with everyday! So we went to a side by side refrigerator.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Third Time is a Charm

We renovated our kitchen in 2012. A new LG counter depth side by side was purchased for the new kitchen. That fridge lasted one year and was replaced by LG. The replacement fridge lasted longer, but suddenly one day, stopped cooling and we came home to a puddle of water on the floor. Our local appliance dealer worked with us to replace the fridge with a new LG French door counter depth fridge. So far I am loving it. The shelves are very spacious and everything in the fridge is very visible. Much better than the side-by-side. Time will tell how well this fridge performs. I hope it lasts ten years this time.
Still love it

I did detailed appliance research as we were preparing for a complete kitchen remodel in 2014. I wanted a Big Frig, but I was picky about features; I wanted a frig that 'supported' the way that we live. Found it. Two years later, I STILL love this LG frig. Interior design has lots of flexibility; really keeps fresh food well.

My latest addition to my growing list of LG products. Space for a refrigerator in my home is limited (33" or less) and this LG refrigerator fits the bill perfectly. Although narrower that other LG model refrigerators, this French Door model has more room that you can imagine, despite its measurement restrictions. Great space, great controls and a great price. Just what I was looking for and nobody else even comes close.

Worst refrigerator I've ever owned
By Disappointed in PA
from Warrington, PA
Bought this refrigerator in November 2014 so I've had some time to live with it. Looks great in my kitchen. Decent capacity for a cabinet depth model. Interior can easily be configured to accommodate different food items. Easy to keep clean. So by now you may wonder why this is the worst I've owned - frost. No, frost isn't accurate, ice. Once or twice a year, ice builds up below and behind the Glide N Serve drawer. The build-up is so severe, it requires us to move out all the food and disconnect the appliance for several DAYS to allow the ice to fully melt from all of the vents and crevices involved. And even then, since the design is meant to be frost free, one cannot be sure all the ice is fully cleared because the spaces are not accessible. I've had repair personnel to my home to trouble-shoot the problem and I was given the answer that the ice accumulates from moisture in the air due to having the door open too much. Open too much? We are a household of 4 adults, 1 of whom is off to college 8 months of the year and 2 of whom are at work each day. We are not in the habit of standing before the open fridge admiring its contents. Why did I never have this problem with other models when the children were small and more likely to stand lost in indecision?? Further, the home is heated in winter, air conditioned in summer, both of which remove moisture from air. And we have no humidifier in place. God help us if we were a larger family with younger children! I'm so thankful for my 30-some year old, energy inefficient Amana that stands year after year faithfully keeping my extra items cold in my basement. This is the workhorse that holds my food while my finicky LG is defrosting, inconveniencing us with running up and down stairs during every meal preparation. Photos below show this latest episode - and this particular time, I've caught it before it really built up badly. Purchase this fridge only if you enjoy defrosting. It certainly is not the frost-free appliance it claims to be.
