Washes very well

Comments about LG 3.6 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:
Very good washer. Reliable. Check feature set however. This one does not have a soak mode (we didn't realize that when we bought it). We would have taken the model up to get that mode included.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I scrimped and saved to buy this washing machine. I have owned it now for about 1.5 years. I am soooo disappointed. I am an older single woman. I wash small loads and am careful to sort my loads. The machine does not get my clothes clean! I am noticing that my bath towels and wash cloths are getting dingy. Although I always use the water plus feature, there is not enough water in the machine and/or enough agitation to clean the clothes. When I check the load while it is cycling through the wash cycles, I often see items on top that are not getting wet nor being agitated. Has LG come up with a retrofit fix for this machine? I love my dryer and other LG products I have owned but just avoided LG when purchasing a new above the range microwave.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This machine does NOT clean clothes!
It has only gotten worse of the the 90 days I've been using it. I have never seen a washer that has clothes supposedly be clean come out with all sorts of lint/pet hair streaks. I feel like it was a total waste of money. I'm now shopping for a replacement and definitely will NOT be choosing LG!
Nothing but a bad experience...

I bought this washer a little over a year ago and chose not to purchase the extended warranty! What a MISTAKE!!! Every single time I do a load of white laundry, something comes out more stained than when it went in. Oftentimes it happens to be one of my favorite pair of white pants. I have had to take them to my parents house and bleach them in order to get the stains out that were not there when I put them in my washer! It looks like I tossed them in with a load of mud! This happens to my dark clothes too and I have had to redo several loads! My fiancées work clothes get washed in this machine but they are by no means that bad, and again, my parents washer (not the same brand) handle them just fine! I have done tub clean cycles after each load and nothing has solved my problem! It is not my detergent either, as I have tried a few different brands!! I am so incredibly disappointed in this washer! And to think, I waited three years to get our own!! I would rather be toting myself back and forth to the laundromat again than ruin all my good clothes!!!

I purchased this machine for several reasons. The first was because the last machine also a LG was the washer from heaven, unfortunately that front loading machine was too large for the space in my new home. So back to the stores to find a HE LG washer that would fit the smaller space. Purchased this top loading LG in Feb 2014 and have been very pleased with it until the drum fell to the bottom of the washer earlier today. We are a two person household so over use is not an issue. Called LG and spoke to a very nice young man today. Found out if they approve the copy of my sale invoice, they because it has been over a year will most probably pay for the parts ie. the drum, but not the labor to fix it. Maybe I'm missing something here it's just 19 months from payment and even less time since, I had to order and wait for delivery. Since when is the life span of a washer, a high quality and highly rated one barely 18 months. I'm hoping that LG comes through and takes care of this so I can continue to invest in their products and believe that customer satisfaction is important to them. My 2 star rating is not because of the performance which until the drum dropped was very good but because of the reliability issue and the anticipation of a very large bill from the repairman.
A HUGE disappointment

When our Kenmore front loader finally started giving out after around 13 years, we started shopping for a replacement. Our laundry room is old and space is very limited, which ruled out many washers simply based on the available space. We finally came across this one and reluctantly decided to go back to a top loader (with the consolation that at least was a High Efficiency model). We were happy to read the great reviews, though, and we were impressed by the manufacturer's warranty. I'm sad to say that we have been EXTREMELY disappointed! We have owned this washer for eight months. We live in California where we are dealing with severe drought. Water efficiency is a major concern for us. Based on the information we had read about this machine, it sounded like ti would be very efficient. Unfortunately, that "efficiency" has come at a cost. As some reviews have pointed out, sometimes the clothes on the top hardly get wet, much less moved around very much. From the beginning we consistently found residue on articles of clothing when we removed the laundry to hang out on the line: The residue varies, sometimes pale, almost waxy looking streaks and clumps, sometimes darker. I switched from the high-quality He powdered laundry detergent I had used for years with our Kenmore without any issues and found a He liquid to use. No change, we're still getting residue. We've played with the settings and various temperatures with no luck. I've taken to having to hand-rinse numerous articles of clothing after each wash and wring them out before I hang them out on the line. You should see the water in the bucket after I'm done (I've uploaded photos): cloudy and murky beyond belief. My husband is experiencing skin irritation and itching where elastic in his underwear touches his skinâ€"he thinks it's because of the laundry residue left behind. Needless to say, the actual cleaning of the clothing is sub-par. If you can even refer to it as "cleaning." When there's that much residue left behind, you know that there's dirt left behind as well. This is a huge disappointment since we like the features on the washer and the fact that it fits in the space we have available. But frankly, I wish we'd simply spent the money to have our Kenmore repaired. Our 13-year-old front loader did a much better job on laundry than this modern LG washerâ€"and when you take into the account the extra rinse cycles we sometimes use, it used a lot less water too.

This machine is absolutely horrible. When it fills with water, even when using the Water Plus feature, the water doesn't actually immerse all the clothes in the water. It doesn't even get some of the clothes wet! After washing a load, some clothes are completely dry. We attached a garden hose to the washtub in the laundry room and have to fill the machine manually with water before running the load. I'm not making this up. This is not what we had in mind when we bought the "new" washing machine technology. LG should not sell such a horrible piece of equipment. This is our first LG product. This might be our last LG product.
doesn't clean clothing

This washer transfers dirt from one article to another, often leaves parts of the clothing dry throughout the entire wash cycle, and barely agitates the laundry. Sometimes the simplest soil is not removed and I am forced to hand wash laundry AFTER it has gone through the machine. Very disappointing. I wish someone from LG would contact me and help me resolve my issues with this machine!
This washer is excellent.

I am a technician working in various situations but always sure to be covered in grease, dust, dirt and grime while repairing compressors. from the first load of wash and everyone since it has been more than effective in getting my work uniforms clean. And the cycles allow for my wife's delicate items and whites to come out bright and clean. The drum size is great for bedding and large items as well.
