Comments about LG 4.3 Cu. Ft. Front Loading Washer - White:
These LG HE washers have a huge water hammer issue. Just google LG HE water hammer. Not caused by my plumbing. Don't buy this machine

Nice, but frustrated
from Minneapolis, MN, United States
For almost every use, this washer is wonderful. Getting used to this washer took some time, compared to the old washer, in terms of cycles and getting things comparably clean. This greatest frustration we have so far is that this has no wool/hand wash cycle. Selecting delicate and then manually changing spin to low and light soil still was too fast - 2 adult wool sweaters were ruined (agitation still too high on low spin) and are now child sized. Selecting no spin saved a wool sweater, but as can be imagined, it was soaking wet and took some time to air dry on a rack. My last frustration is that even though you can download different cycles for this model, there is no wool/hand wash cycle to choose from. Other models have this, why doesn't this one? For regular laundry - good choice. For wool - stay away!
Love this as much as my other LG washer
from Ithaca, NY, United States
I love it and almost exclusively use the Allergen cycle. I've been so happy with it, only con is that there is no interior light. I feel like that really should have been added.
leaky leaky leaky
I am VERY DISSATISFIED with this washing machine. Front door leaked immediately. The seal is poorly designed as it is not a perfect fit between the drum and the glass door. Repair man came out and said "one hair" would cause it to leak and it must be cleaned after every use (door and seal wiped down).
I love it!

Lots of choices in control panel. Does everything I need.

Lg turbo washer
By Rosemarie P
from Long Island NY
First it takes about three hours to do a load properly. I thought it was supposed to be energy efficient. Second it does not get the all clothes wet so I have to add 1 or 2 pots of water. Third it gets stuck on the spin cycle it says it has 6 minutes to go but half hour later it says the same.
Big mistake, big regret, zero stars!
from Maryland, United States
Unfortunately the Energy Star people take manufacturers' word for it that the appliances they certify "perform their function according to expectations. " We bought this as a match to the dryer, which works OK. Big mistake. Zero stars. The machine gets the clothes wet with soapy water and basically tosses them listlessly back and forth in the drum. The truth about this machine is that you must use the pre-wash feature, use the hottest cycle, and add an extra rinse/s in order to get anything clean. For towels, I run an extra "speed wash" with household vinegar. This machine takes about 2-3 hours per load--if you have a large family, you will be running it nonstop. It requires additional maintenance every month. If you don't wipe out the seal and leave the door open, you will have a stinky mold problem. Lastly, if you have to run every load twice in boiling water, and replace the machine every five years (now average for 'durable goods'), that's not really an energy savings, is it?

I bought this washer and it's partner dryer (gas) about 3 weeks ago and we have been nothing short of astonished with its thorough cleaning ability and it's silent operation!
