The washing machine always becomes unbalanced even when we take extra care to load it evenly. It doesn't balance and then goes back to rinse. The wash gets rinsed for hours. We finally have to select rinse only and this doesn't even work.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I purchased this product in 2014. In less than 2 years I have had it repaired 4x. Clothes do not come clean unless you wash it in the longer settings. Goes off balance without the loads being large. Gets moldy inside just like the front loaders. It has never been a quiet machine so to read reviews that the machine is quite no way it is not. This will be the last LG appliance I will ever buy. With a family of 5 there is no time to be waiting for the repair company & then waiting another 1-2 weeks for parts. I'm starting to think I have a lemon!
Fits KING size bedding including a comforter!
from Nebraska, United States
I bought this washer and matching electric dryer in early 2014 from Menards. I have never had a problem with the washer (or dryer). PREP LOAD TO AVOID ERROR: I have always been mindful about balancing the load in the basket before starting. Even the old washer my parents had since the 80's had issues with large denim loads that would cause the washer to "walk" until someone went to re-balance the load. I always make sure when I load it up to distribute the clothing evenly. I love the size since I can wash our king size bedding (including the comforter) without issues. I have even washed queen bedding and extra blankets! I actually have never had the unbalanced error stop my washer as other owners have experienced. When the basket would start to knock when I wash the bedding or towels I would go pause it, then redistribute load and start it again. This has happened maybe a couple of times since I bought it when I didn't get the load quite right when I was washing bedding. Until it got wet it was hard to tell if it was balanced right. WASH TIME: As far as the time to complete, if I'm in a hurry I will use the speed-wash cycle and adjust temp/spin. Many of the front loaders take just as long to complete, or longer from my experience. From what I've heard from family and friends who have new washers as well, they all take about the same amount of time to complete. I have not had the issues of the refiling and draining when it tries to determine the right water level, mine appears to sense the level of water necessary on the first try. My water bill is less than I had with the old washer with the 3 water levels that would overfill on small loads since the small wasn't small enough. FREQUENCY OF USE: Several times a week--more than 4 loads a week. HEAVY SOIL LAUNDRY: As far as heavily soiled clothing...I don't know how well it performs. I grew up in a family that works outside a lot and can get pretty greasy, muddy, grass-stained and grimy and I haven't tested it with those kinds of stains. As a runner I will get a little muddy from time to time and mowing the lawn/gardening puts mild dirt and grass stains on my clothes, but I make my own detergent that is safe for HE appliances since I have allergies to some of the products out there and I don't have issues. In general I'm good at getting the tough stains such as tomato, coffee, grass and blood out of clothing, so maybe more can be attributed to me rather than the washer. WHAT I WOULD CHANGE: Not much. The only bad thing I can think of is the inability to completely customize any load setting. Thus, I have to settle with tweaking the predetermined settings as much as I can. For the most part, the Prem Press/Casual and Sport Wear cycles gets me what I need. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I have never had to call so I cannot comment about the diagnostic button or LG customer care quality. I hope this review helps those out there trying to decide what to get. Just remember, you can't just dump laundry in, put in detergent and start. You MUST take a few seconds to distribute the load evenly around where the agitator would be. I always make sure to spread out the load and make a hole, like a doughnut, where the agitator would be and it seems to keep me from running in and adjusting it. I can just fill, spread, add detergent, start and walk away and not come back until the end of wash signal.

I have two problems with this washer, the first being you cannot have very large loads or it will stop and give you an error code of uneven, this happens A LOT, the second is you do not want cabinets above your washer as the washer door will hit them so it can't open fully so you have to hold the washer door EVERY time you load or unload it.
Poor quailty product
from Riverside CA
I bought this washer 3 years ago I yet to this date it has never been repaired to my satisfaction. The door will not close unless I slam it close, and the entire top part of this washer is falling apart (Rusting away) but I've been told by LG that that was not covered because it cosmetic but yet rust is falling into the tub during the wash and staining our clothes.

The LG model wt5070cw washer is complete junk! It has been displaying an UE error code since the first load. The UE problem has only gotten worse. Don't believe the positive reviews on this site. Go search the web and you will find countless others who are having the same problem. LG knows this washer needs a software update and a new rotor to fix the problem, but they refuse to make it right with their customers.

This washer has been awful from the beginning. It goes unbalanced all the time, filling, draining and filling again with water trying to balance itself. I can't understand how it received an energy star rating. It sucks more energy and wastes more water than if I let the shower run all day long! This happens with small and large loads. There should be negative star options. I have no idea how consumer reports rated this so high. I can't explain enough how much I loath this washer. Will never buy another LG appliance!
