Great picture and sound
from Dundalk, MD
Didn't know much about LG products and was skeptical about their tv's. Went to the store to see a 55 inch model and decided to get the larger one, a 60 inch and am glad we did. It has an amazing picture and the sound is great.

Imagine a tv that delivers more than your expectations and you have it in this product. Our past purchase of an LG Home Theatre was the start. There was a technical issue that was remedied a year after the purchase and LG Customer Service fully fulfilled their obligations with the most fantastic customer service I have seen in many years. So we decided to replace our Samsung phones with LG (a second wise decision). Okay, 2 great purchases; so how could we go wrong with an LG television? We didn't. The picture is so perfect that I keep feeling I could reach out across the room and touch the scenery. I can watch any time of day and no interference from the daylight on the picture. It is as clear as can be.
Great Quality and a Good Value

We have a FL beach house and recently tore out an old built-in wall unit designed for old style "box" TVs with only a 36 inch maximum width. We then built and installed a new wall unit and spec'd the dimensions to both accommodate this TV and a digital sound projector. Great picture quality. Sometimes the room gets quite bright from sunshine and the LG still offers great picture quality. Set up for the LG was incredibly simple. We are still learning some of the enhanced features. Internet access was easy and the LG comes with a slick and powerful remote control ("Magic Remote"). The LG also has 3D capability but we have not tried that yet. The LG offers ample input and output connections.

Great price/performance & fit
from San Diego, CA, United States
We needed 60" for a relatively small room. Since we were not wall mounting it, set up was simple as instructions were good and the supplied stand works very well. 1080p picture is very good, with blacks as deep as you can get short of OLED, really good contrast, and no detectable motion artifacts. We were concerned about only three HDMI inputs, but the smart TV apps covered everything we currently use with one exception: Fandango. Plex and Netflix took some time to set up because an account with LG's Content Store was required and did take some time and effort to establish. Once the account came up, the TV updated its firmware and we downloaded the two needed apps. Plex app sees our media server and Netflix just needed account info to work. For Fandango, we will need a Roku or similar. That still leaves one HDMI free. The magic remote worked very well, with two exceptions. It provides all the set top box controls except fast forward and rewind of recorded materiel. Last item is sound. For a TV, its excellent, but it will not replace an HTS or good sound bar/subwoofer for music, or in my opinion, movies either. Neither enough bass nor separation, although the mids & highs are good. The lack of bass is not surprising, given the speaker sizes, and we knew that before purchase. Would recommend LG provide a sub pre out for a fix on later models. All in all, still happy with the purchase. Note it is great for sports viewing. Would give five stars if the sound had at least better bass and the Content Store account had been easier. We look forward to trying 4k on Netflix.

I bought this TV in February and it is the reason I sit down and watch TV. The features are great and it's very user friendly.

This is Da' Definition! Boom!!!
from Warner Robins, GA, United States
This is my second LG 3D our household, we bought our first five years ago, our first was a 55LW5300 and my mind was blown away with the picture quality, just watching Blue Ray 3D, it was incredible the definition you might thing I was getting, till I got this 8500, even though I don't own a Blue Ray 3D UHD 4K player, just with my old one, that came with the TV as a bundle four years ago, the HDR Super w/ Dolby Vision and 4K Upscaler do an amazing job with those old and new movies, the webOS 3.0 is easy to use, just need to be updated and you need to make an LG account, you need to have high speed internet, this is a must, we connected it wireless on its own repeater on a exclusive faster bandwidth a must for Ultra HD 4K and yes you need to pay a little more on Netflix to get the Ultra HD 4K on your, with the basic account you will only get UHD, so pay a little more if you want that 4K UHD movie experiences on webOS 3.0 Netflix application, so before you go spend some cash, y'all exited right? wait not that fast, make sure #1 priority is the internet speed you will use for the TV is fast, I mean if you are a gamer you know what I mean, fast, racing fast, keep it wired or use an exclusive wireless repeater with a different bandwidth exclusively for the TV, its not difficult to achieve, google it, that's how we did it, I did had my internet provider on a row for a week, getting me for I was paying for, gaming speed internet connection, that primary task and most important completed, get some good quality HDMI 4K UHD cable and any 3D blue ray player with a good number of positive reviews will do it

Great picture and it was easy to set up. Only reason did not give it 5 stars is that the sound could be a little better
