Comments about LG All-In-One Electric Washer/Dryer Combo - White:
I bought this a year ago to save space. I LOVE the multitude of wash settings - it effectively cleans everything from my most disgusting horse blankets to my delicate "dry clean only" down blanket. Any size load, any combination of wash/rinse cycles. If I had bought this when I had growing boys I would have sent it back within a week - it takes forever to complete a wash/dry cycle and if you have a large load you have to split it to dry it, or keep running it through additional dry cycles (manual doesn't explain how to run the dryer only but it is possible). If you run large loads, you will need a place to hang damp clothes - they dry quickly when hung, but this may be a problem if you don't have a place to hang sheets and blankets (I use my loft railing). The regular dry can fry clothes and I only use the low temp dry and that has never shrunk clothes. You have to monitor permanent press because if it does dry all the way it may have super wrinkles that take water to get rid of. No lint trap is a pain, you have to wipe around the door seal after use and if you have pets you will find the hair balls up and sticks to the clothes. I use perfume-free detergent and clothes didn't smell fresh without the dryer sheets (which you can't use), but a small amount of liquid softener does the trick. It sounds like a jet engine when spinning and the drain pump, which continues to turn on/off constantly during the entire lengthy dry cycle, is annoyingly loud. There is a learning curve and once you figure it out, you can wash and dry most anything just fine if you have the patience to wait. My kids are grown and for me it saves space and energy, and I'm really happy with the wash results, so the "cons" aren't show stoppers for me. I got a super deal on a tent sale item and with the 10 year warranty it was an extra super deal!

DO NOT BUY!
About Me Occasional User
Bought this unit in March and it broke in June. What is worse is that instead of replacing the unit (you would think a [$] machine that breaks after a few months would be deemed defective) they want to repair it. The real joke is that I only do laundry around every 2 weeks. Apparently it needs to break 5 times in order for them to replace it. BUYER BEWARE! LG is not the brand for me and especially avoid this unit.

Figure the cost of having your laundry done for 6 months. It could cost as much as this unit. Then your washing is free. One way to look at it.

Own it and love it!

My boyfriend and I bought this machine about 6 months ago. I researched as much as possible and took a while to convince him but I finally got it and I love it. It's true, an entire cycle from start to finish can take 5 hours. However, our electric bills only went up about $20/month and thats with at least 3 loads a week. The wash cycles start at 20 minutes and can go on to a couple hours. Separately (because you can combine wash and dry or not) the drying starts at 30 minutes and goes to 120 minutes. It also does a self evaluation and puts in its own time. Be prepared to set the washer/dryer and leave the house. Thats what I do. It spins your clothes for a while to prevent wrinkling and then turns itslef off. All Detergent must be HE (hign efficiency) which is what all new machine take. This is the only retailer that offered a long warranty. Believe me I did my research and I was able to get it here for 5 yrs. where others only offered 2yrs.The cost was pretty much the same everywhere.

Highly satisfied w/prev version
from Englewood, NJ
I've had the previous version of this 3677HW, and have been highly satisfied with it. It doesn't need high voltage or a steam vent, therefore it works inside my apartment. It takes about 3 hours to do a full load end-to-end, something you have to be ready for. However if you follow instructions and don't overload, clothes come out refreshed and with few wrinkles. Its also been very good at cleaning, better than any top loader.
