The WRT1900AC is built for wired connection to an array of digital devices using the enhanced USB 3.0 or the unique eSATA/USB2.0 combo port. By integrating the eSATA port, users who prefer to attach an external SATA storage device can utilize the eSATA cable that came with their storage unit and benefit from optimal data transfer speeds. The eSATA port can also be used as a USB 2.0 port.

Good router hampered with oddly layout software
from Philadelphia, PA, United States
Comments about Linksys AC1900 Dual-Band+ Smart Wi-Fi Router:
I bought this refurbished version 1 router to replace my aging Netgear WNDR4300 router. The first unit was replaced as it kept disconnecing from internet (dirext connected to Verizon FiOS ONT box.) The replacement unit fixed that issue. I was not getting good WiFi coverage for my while house with the Netgear router. The Linksys definitely covers the house better, but I still ended up with using the Netgear as an access point on the second floor to cover the whole house. The software is oddly layed out but usable. The WiFi lights stay on even when no WiFi devices are connected or WiFi is off. Looks like software bug. I ran the latest DD-WRT on it for a week but then went back to stock. I may try again one day.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great coverage, easy set up.

The set up was very easy and whole house coverage was greatly improved. The Parental Controls are good, only drawback is you can only block whole hours and you cannot adjust times through the app.
Fastest router with the easiest interface!

I've been a Linksys fan since they came out with their printer sharing and network switches. When the WRTG-54s came out, whom are still being used by some to date they made me an even bigger fan. It was fast with a very user friendly interface. It was the best for its time. Glad to see that it was made even better. The WRT1900AC is very easy to use with unparalleled performance. It's a monster! I am sure that will keep improving as newer ones come out. And they have. Overall, anything WRT from Linksys is superb.

Bad product, bad support
from Indiana, United States
Random rebooting issue still not solved (now over a year) despite hundreds of complaints in their own community forums. Wireless speeds randomly throttle down to 2Mbps (my service is 180Mbps) Waiting for 2nd replacement unit. DO NOT BUY!!!!
