Discovered Friday Night, Used Saturday Morning!
from Washington, PA 15301, USA
Comments about Logitech Wireless R400 Presenter Remote Control:
I'm an age 55+ professional, but have not done many slide presentations... probably less than ten. Trying out and preparing a new presentation with new software, I made an eleventh-hour decision to stand up and "get remote" for the next day's seminar. (I used to just hit keyboard keys.) I entered the office supply store late Friday, asked the employee about a tool that would let me "get remote" and he led me to the Logitech R400. Once I got home I found it surprisingly simple to get the presenter plugged in and working great! It felt comfortable in my hand and had just the simple features I needed: slide forward-reverse and a laser pointer. My presentation the following morning went very, very well. I walked back and forth across the conference room and never once did the Logitech presenter miss a signal. Let me highly recommend to you the R400 for its simplicity and smooth effectiveness.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Windows XP 32-bit with Powerpoint
from Sharon, PA, USA
I was not able to just plug the device into my usb & use it right away. I had to download & install the software from this website. The product works flawlessly since everything has been installed. Very happy with this wireless presenter.

Works Great for Power Point Presentation
from Carbondale, Illinois
I saw a review saying that this product did not work with powerpoint but decided to buy it anyway. I literally plugged it in and it works great in powerpoint. The laser is also a nice little addition. I use Windows 7 Enterprise addition at the University with a 64 bit operating system and 64 bit Microsoft Office.

I rarely write reviews but I am taking the time to write this one. I am a professional trainer and use the Logitech R400 presenter frequently. I so appreciate a product that simply does what it is supposed to do, every time, and with tremendous efficiency. I love the simplicity of the self storing aspect for the usb insert. This unit fits nicely in my hand thereby reducing distractions for me and for my participants during presentations. I have used mine for over a year now without any issues. I would recommend this product to anyone!

I bought this product because of its great look and design. Seemed simple to use. However once you open the package there are no instructions on how to use this with your Powerpoint presentation. It just says to plug in the receiver and your good to go. Opened the Powerepoint presentation from the computer and it does not work. Off to return it.

Please ad memory !!
Travelling a lot with presentations I do wonder, why there is no build in memory in the USB reciever ? Now I need to put in a USB memostick as well as the presenter - it would be quite convenient to have the presentation in the reciever stick > just click in and go !!

Excellent Product - One suggestion!
from Franklin, TN
I have used this presenter for over 2 years and have never had any problems (unlike the Toshiba presenter I had before this one). I use this every week for 5-8 hours per day. I use it on WinXP and Win7-64bit systems... Perfect!! One suggestion: design a default "off-switch" into the USB storage port so when the USB connector is stored back in the presenter body for travel, the battery circuit is disabled. I have forgotten to turn the device off before and discovered my mistake only after unpacking.

2nd Logitech presenter...still great
from Portland, OR
(Note: indicated usage is for this design only; I used the previous design, which is very similar (see below), for two years) I enjoyed using the previous iteration of Logitech's presenter (which had all of the features this design does) in my classroom daily for two years. The person that introduced me to it commented on its simplicity; it included only the features I needed and not other buttons/cursor controls that could be mishandled or would be confusing for someone else to pick up and use immediately. I have seen this observation to be true as my students ask for it frequently near the end of the semester when giving presentations in class and to clients. The previous design worked on both PC laptops (WinXP) and MacBooks (MacOS and WinXP) by just plugging in the receiver. The previous design also had a timer that would vibrate at 5 and 2 min., but I didn't end up relying on it too much. Battery life was also acceptable. With daily use (at least 1 hr) of both the forward and backward buttons (F/B) and the laser, it went two semesters without a battery change. Unfortunately, I lost it, so I returned to Logitech to find a new design. The biggest changes between the designs (as I see it) are the following: timer (I don't miss it), laser button location, form, and power switch. The laser button is now isolated above the F/B and is larger, minimizing mishits of the F/B. The form has changed to a wider base in the palm and narrower platform for the thumb to select the controls. This alteration allows a better, more natural grip by the fingers. I do concur with one of the other comments on the power button. It is more subtle in this design and, like the previous design, would be great if it could be coupled with an auto-off feature after 1 hr of non-use (or could a Logitech technician/engineer make a comment about battery drain with the power on and no buttons pressed?). I also like the addition of a raised "nib" on the forward button in order to orientate the thumb without needing to look (like the F and J keys on most keyboards). I am unsure of the issue that another commenter had with it not working with Win7. I have used it with both Win7 32-bit and 64-bit without issue. I don't "plan" on losing this one, but if it comes time to need another one, I do plan on checking out what Logitech has come up with next. Thanks!
