In jan 2016 i bought this washer in feb 2016 the dryer broke and. The dealer told me there is no compatible dryer stackablemdryer model #mde2400aywthis is not good.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Very disappointed, always thought very highly of Maytag

I bought my washing machine in February 2016 It started giving me problems with the drain/spin cycle but only when loundry is in the machine, otherwise it works fine although a very fickle washer I must admit.I learned to read the reviews prior to purchasing anything and certainly will read the reviews for another washer. Live and learn
Had this for a year now works well and doesn't smell bad. Only had 1 issue with it when a sock got stuck in the drainage and caused problems with the rinse cycle. I am not sure how it got there..we removed it and it haven't happened since.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Versatile and great features
Great features give you a versatile selection of options for your wash needs. The size will surprise you and when it comes out your clothes are spun almost dry, It fluffs them up so there are little wrinkles for the dryer to remove.

Failed in less than two years!!!!!!!

I bought the washer and dryer less than two years ago and the washer stopped working. It spins once and then stops. I bought Maytag because I heard about the quality of their products however they have let me down. I am very disappointed spending this kind of money should guarantee a machine to work more than two years. Now it is discontinued and after reading the other reviews I can see why. Maytag used to stand for American quality unfortunately after this purchase the quality aspect of Maytag has disappeared.

ZERO STARS - DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE

I just had the 7th repair visit on this machine. Yep, 7th. The machine was purchased in October 2014 and has always been finicky. In March of this year, it quit draining completely. In two visits, the repairman replaced two sensors. It worked, but I'd occasionally, and then more frequently, continue to have issues with lights, no spinning/draining. Finally, it quit spinning and draining altogether, so I purchased the "Repair Plus One" package from Maytag (the first "repair" was covered under warranty) for $350. Over the next FIVE visits, the repairmen cleared the drain hose, replaced the door latch switches, and told me I had "sudsing". Each visit, I was given a new set of rules for the machine, which amounted to:1) Clothes the door gently but firmly near the latch. Never slam the door. 2) Put all small items in garment bags. ***The owner's manual says nothing about this - just to watch out for items the size of loose change, but there was a small WASHCLOTH stuck in there. 3) Do not use powdered soap 4) Only use one tablespoon of liquid soap (Again, the owner's manual only says to use HE soap. I've always used the recommended amount). 5) Don't use the NORMAL cycle (seriously?). After all of this, THE MACHINE STILL DOES NOT WORK. Repairman #3 (visit 5) came back and said that I was still having a sudsing issue - likely because the machines at the laundromat are not rinsing the clothes well, but this is obviously not the only problem with this machine. I am so angry and frustrated right now. This machine was expensive. The repair and so-called warranty were expensive, and the laundromat is expensive. I guess I will spend another $20 tomorrow at the laundromat with my 6 month old baby. And then I will try to figure out a way to purchase a new machine.After reading all of these other reviews, it is appalling to me that Maytag does not issue a recall on these machines. Clearly, there are major design flaws and workmanship issues. Just plain wrong.

I purchased this water in November, hooked it up in January and by July it stopped working. To make matters worse the service department at Maytag/whirlpool is AWFUL. They scheduled the service appointment and had wrong phone numbers for me and the service people. Hence we had delays, then the lost all record of parts that we needed, lost another 3 weeks. After 45 minutes on the phone they said they would manufacture a new part and send it out.....another 1-2 weeks. Meanwhile I have no water and they don't care. Really disappointed with this water. It had very little use as it is used for only my husband and myself, so it's not been abused by any means. The control board has to be replaced as well as the latch. Iff you are looking for a compact washer look beyond this model.

Nightmare of a washer experience

I've had this washer less than two years - in the past few months draining and spinning problems - have had two different appliance repair companies in, have spent more than $450, and today I decided to cut my losses, lower my stress level, and buy a new washer. It will NOT be Maytag or Whirlpool, never again.

Maytag is NOT DEPENDABLE

As I had previously owned this model and I needed to replace it was 8 years old and tech said it wasn't worth fixing, I purchased the same as my basement stairwell is very narrow. My machine is not yet 2 years old and it broke. F2 and F6 codes, lights up but won't operate. The tech said it is the main computer and would cost $450 to fix!I can't afford the repair and I am still paying for this machine. I can't get a human being on the phone but tried the live chat. They weren't helpful at all and said they could offer a discount on another machine. I would never buy Maytag again! I will contact the BBB and other consumer groups with my complaints. Maytag should stand behind their product, especially with so many people having the same problem!

We have had many of the same problems that others have mentioned (flashing lights, won't start, clothes still overly damp after spin cycle, not very user friendly) and the latest is the start button is recessed into the machine and won't start the cycle. Bought this based on the Maytag name and have not been pleased,with the performance. Time to start looking for another brand. Very disappointed.
