Comments about Maytag 2.0 Cu. Ft. Over-The-Range Microwave - Stainless Steel:
This model was a failure after having it for two years the main board burned. Everytime we turn the microwave on it starts chirping like is going to catch fire.. I thought it was the electric line that I installed but the tehc guy that came to the house said it wasnt. Very disappointed that a good brand like maytag wouldnt help me at all. It told me it was out of warranty just after two years
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This Microwave Sucks!

We've had this microwave for quite a while. From the beginning, we found the power too low to completely pop a bag of popcorn, and if we kept it in the microwave longer, it burned. Reheating foods takes much longer than past microwaves we've had (non-Maytag). I don't like the design of the gliding table because it only heats up on side of the plate. As a result, we have to microwave the food longer than we have to with our other microwave (that we only paid $60 for). We could microwave the food 2 minutes and the plate can be extremely hot and it has even burned members of my family, but frankly the food was still cold. I would not recommend this microwave to anyone.

We purchased this microwave a couple years ago. Love the functionality and sleek design. Greatly disappointed that it is falling apart already. The door assembly is literally crumbling apart! Opened it yesterday to use it and a huge piece if the plastic door surround just fell off. Really disappointing that we will need to replace it so soon after purchase. Looked at getting a new door but we can buy a whole new microwave for about the same price.
Broke after 2 years

This was an expensive microwave. Now it just beeps when you push start. The only thing it is good for is the timer. I called Maytag and they don't care to help me.From the other reviews I have read on here,the majority of the consumers give this product a one star rating. I will NEVER buy a Maytag/Whirlpool product again.

Not a quality product

Since brand new this microwave had an intermittent light. One day it stopped working altogether. 1.5 years into ownership the microwave quit. It is completely blank as if it is not getting power, but the outlet works fine. This thing is useless. So is out maytag oven, and fridge. Never again Maytag.
Not so great

I have tried to read the display panel, I have tried to read the instructions manual, I have even called to get a rep to walk me through some of the functions. I have gotten no useful instructions from anything I've tried and the rep was actually snotty to me. I am actually hating the convection part and no one I know that has one even uses it. It is not user friendly and I won't buy this brand ever again!

I purchased my home in Jun 2014. It had all brand new Maytag appliances. The microwave started giving me problems after the first year. When i go to use it i have to wait upwards of 2 minutes for the light to click on. Then i am able to push in the time and it starts working. Also when i open the door while working the microwave does not shutoff. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Was very happy with Glide tray, after 6 months start getting problems with starting with work microwave itself. After 10 months I have a clock with light and hood, microwave is not working at all. Done everything from troubleshooting suggestions- nothing worked. How can you rate this product? From excellent (good idea with the tray) to poor, when this tray is not working!

We've been pleased with the features of this microwave, but the magnetron failed just 14 months after we purchased it. Yes, the magnetron is covered by a 10 warranty, but when we pay for a service call and labor from an authorized repair shop, we spend as much as the original unit cost. Seriously!
