There's rust on the front!!!!!
Comments about Maytag 24.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel:
We've had this model for 5-6 years, which should make no difference, but besides having to have it fixed 3-4 times, RUST is starting to appear on the front doors. What's that all about?
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Fridge not even 5 years old nothing but problems sealing problems in beginning with freezer now insulation is all over kitchen like it's snowing fridge completely went out what a junk I replaced old one that lasted 25 years and still worked got rid of it because it didn't match what a disappointment !
Ice tastes bad
Love everything except the flavor of the ice. I have no water dispenser so flushing out is not possible.
Defective Ice Maker
We purchased this refrigerator in mid February and found the ice maker defective. Through repeated efforts at getting service to correct the issue, we have yet to have the problem resolved. This has been an extremely frustrating experience which does not speak well for both the product and the service support from Maytag.
Lots of issues with ice maker
We have had to have the ice maker fixed three times. Lots of expense. Water build up on bottom of freezer, then ice maker quit working twice needed lots of work. Now not working again. Doors seem to bounce open when shut really have to make sure you shut them tight. My father visited and always could not get door to stay shut.
I love the space it gives me!

Easy to clean and spacious! My ONLY problem is the pull-out drawer cover pops off easily. Id hate for it to break...

This refrigerator has been excellent so far. It is a very solid buy. It is quiet with good features and plenty of space. We like being able to look into the refrigerator without having to bend down. We like buying American.
I have had this model for about 15 months. First of all it did not work when plugged in. According to the repairman, a key hose was not connected during production so all the cold air blew outside, not inside. I lost all my food and had to go through the hassle of filing a claim with the store for reimbursement. Now I am replacing, at considerable cost, most of the shelves inside it. Pieces seem to chip off and break when it gets cold. Since most part places do not carry parts for this, it is a real hunt to find replacements. I have seen similar complaints on several websites about this model. Lastly, the doors require quite a bit of pressure to close and are prone to popping open. The light comes on, heats up the top two shelves and you need to throw out all your food if it is left on for any length of time. I have had a lot of bad appliances, but this is truly a poorly made piece of junk. Too bad Maytag is no longer reliable. I have a 25 year old washer/dryer set that still works beautifully.
Fridge for Vacation Home
from Houston, TX, United States
Bought this for my mountain vacation home. So far, have only been exposed to it for 1 week, but it has not had any problems. I am accustomed to a SubZero and a Kenmore at home, so the doors seem lighter and less solid
