We bought this dishwasher within the last year and a half and the front control panel has already stopped working, rendering the dishwasher completely useless. We had our previous dishwasher for over 10 years and four moves before it finally gave out. This one lasted less than two years and from what my research has found this is a very common problem with this dishwasher. I wish I had done research before we purchased it. It is now a $500 dish drying rack. Will never buy Maytag again.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Super quiet with nice extras

We bought this three weeks ago went on a 20-year-old GE died. I liked that it had hey food grinder instead of a filter that needs to be cleaned. I was also very impressed with the 10 year warranty, although I hope that I never have to use it. Once started, you can hardly tell it is on. It has a very easy to use height adjuster for the top rack, as well as split silverware baskets which allow you to position them wherever it is most convenient. The dishes are coming out very clean and dry.
Not as good as my old maytag
I bought another maytag when my older one stopped working. It did not have a lot of extra features, even at the time when we purchased it new, but I was always impressed with one thing: it got the dishes clean. The new one doesn't. We are careful about loading it, but regularly one or more dishes comes out of the d/w and goes straight into the sink to soak. The older d/w also had a very large capacity, something I hadn't appreciated until the new one came home and was clearly smaller, probably due to more insulation. I also do not like the design of the control panel, it is "finnicky" to start the cycle and not easy to change the options. And a challenge to start the cycle without a light on if the room is dark ... It is noticeably quieter, as advertised.

Love the dishwasher. It is so much quieter than the old one and has better features. It gets the dishes clean and you hardly know it was running.
Tough and Quiet!

My last dishwasher was like a train coming through my kitchen! With the Maytag...I have to actually walk over several times to make sure it is running. Even when it is filled to the max...cleans all of our dishes, etc. great!
