Comments about Maytag 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:
When it works I really like it. However a little over a year it just stopped working. Comes and goes with no indication as to what the issue is. I will do more research next time before I buy. I would recommend maytag just not this product.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Before, I had a dishwasher that looked fancy; lots of buttons. Guess what; the control panel broke! Now, I am back to simple and efficient Maytag!

Control Panel Last Less Than Two Years!
from Elk River, MN
After spending over $600 for this Maytag dishwasher, I had to spend another $200 replacing the control panel after only 18 months (part only - I provided the labor). The advertised 10 year warranty only applies on parts that will never needs replacing (i.e. stainless steel tub). Very disappointing!
Not What I was Expecting...
from Long Beach, CA
Maytag, a name I held in the highest esteem. We grew up with a washer and drier combo that are still working at my parents house, they were bought in the '70s, & I was in my teens. We just washed our kids clothes in that washer.. they are in their 20's. What a huge sense of accomplishment I felt, when I was finally able to purchase a brand new Maytag for my home too, but the dishwasher I bought only two short years ago, has proven to be unworthy of that Maytag nameplate. How does a dishwasher stop working after only two years? Now I find myself wondering if the range we bought will prove to be a mistake too.I sure hope not.

Purchased online and was delivered quickly. The only problem in the year and half we have had it is the control panel needs to be replaced. It's quite an expensive replacement part. Unit is quiet and cleans really well. The sanitize feature is awesome!
Works fine but terrible door handle design
This dishwasher works great. The problem is the terrible door handle design. There is no latch, you just have to pull very hard to open it. I got this dishwasher in December of 2014. After about a year, I noticed that one side the top panel had separated from the bottom of the door a a little. I was able to snap it back in. However, it kept happening until finally the entire top panel came loose. I just had a repairman here and it's going to cost $360 to have the control panel replaced. I would not expect to have to spend that kind of money on a dishwasher less than 2 years old. An expensive combination of bad design and cheap plastic. This was my first Maytag and it doesn't seem as if they are as dependable as the reputation implies. I probably won't buy another one.

I bought all new Maytag appliances less than 3 years ago for a kitchen remodel. I'm not very pleased with any one them. The dishwasher buttons stopped working properly about a year ago but we've been able to get it work with using other cycles we don't want. Last night it decided to just keep turning on by its self and then today none of the buttons wanted to work. I found a cycle it will run on, hopefully this one works for a while longer yet. JUNK. Appliances should last more than 3 years.
