Just out of Warranty and yes its died
By Ronzo the Viking

Comments about Maytag 24" Built-In Dishwasher - White on White:
Just a month after warranty expires and the touch pad fails. Estimated costs for service over $200.00 just to look at it, failing part price line $150.00. Total for repair is just under the price of purchase.Thought we bought a Maytag that never needs service because it is a superior product?Right!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this a year and a half ago and it quit working a couple of weeks ago. The appliance repairman said it was the control panel. I will not spend that much money for a repair when I can get another new appliance for a little more money. I did not think I would needed to buy the extended warranty. I have never had a dishwasher to quit on me in 30 years! Next time I will buy the extended warranty. I will not replace this one with a Maytag.

I've had this Dishwasher for a year and a half now. A few months ago some of the buttons on the display panel stopped lighting up and were not functioning. I resorted to using the cycle that did work, which happened to be the quick wash. Fast forward 6 weeks and the unit is now completely dead! The buttons do not light up and no cycles run. This wound up being a VERY BAD investment and I am distraught at the fact that less than two years later I have to purchase another dishwasher. What's even worse is I purchased an entire kitchen package, and am wondering if all my other Maytag products will start to breakdown as well. I contacted Customer Service and they advised that they will need to schedule a technician out to my home, which isn't free and I'd of course have to cover any parts that need replacing.Seeing that this seems to be a recurring issue with this product based on the reviews, I can't imagine putting a single cent into a product that will more than likely breakdown again. This was my first Maytag purchase, and will surely be my LAST!

New washer didn't even last 3 years
By A disappointed customer
from Ottawa, Ontario
Bought 2 years ago to replace a 20yr old Maytag model. The old model was still working but we figured that an upgrade was due for energy and water efficiency. The new model had front panel issues after 2 yrs and ultimately would not wash dishes. This model has a known front panel problem reported by many people but no recall/repair issued and the replacement front panel is expensive and looks to be designed the same way. Maytag should (a) repair the fault (b) refund those that paid for the replacement/repair already.

This dish washer was new came with the house. Worked fine for awhile all lights turn on but start button want come on or run. I only used for 12 months. Also may tag refrigerator is no good. Ice drops from the ice maker even when its not in use. I use to think a lot of May Tag products but not no more.

We bought this machine a year and a half ago. It is a lemon. The control panel went out and has been flashing. The user manual states when this occurs call for service. Huh? So is this a known problem? Since they put the scenario in their manulal-it is just odd. Also, do a google searche for this problem. You will find MANY people have had the same issue. There are even you tube video(S) of how to fix the panel on this machine specifically because this problem is so commom. The repairs cost about 250, so off to get a new dw. Dont waste your time with it. And always look at reviews about a year after someone has purchased the item.
2nd Time Control Panel has broke!
from Florahome, FL
Bought this 7/13 broke 6/14 now control panel has burned up again! Have to wait 3 weeks for repair. This is a known problem with this dishwasher and Maytag should replace it for customers! I will never buy another Maytag product again!

Paid over $500 for this dishwasher 2 years ago and it has already stopped working. Just out of the blue the start button no longer works. All the other buttons and lights work but does not start. I guess I learned an expensive lesson buying what I thought was a quality appliance.
DEAD in 2.5 years :(
Less then 2.5 years old and it's dead. FAULTY design has steam from wash cycle going through the control panel. Parts and labor are $360. NOT worth spending the $$$ if it is only going to happen again in 1-2 years. I will NOT buy another Maytag or Whirlpool product again.
Control Panel Problems
from Philadelphia, PA
I bought this dishwasher in Feb 2013. I have been using the product about 5 times a week since then. After about 3 years of great service, the front control panel recently started to go bad. At this point the dishwasher is not usable because of the bad control panel. Read carefully regarding the 10-year warranty since it covers only the racks, blade, and steel tub. Maytag is not what it used to be.
