Comments about Maytag 29.875" Free Standing Gas Range - Stainless Steel:
It was my husband's idea: he has wanted a gas stove for years. So when the oven element on our electric stove burned out, he saw his chance! I wasn't so sure, but am now completely convinced. I love the fact that it has five burners and that when they are on, they're on and when you turn them off, the heat is immediately gone from beneath the pan. I also like the option of cooking with convection heat. I wasn't ready for not having a solid cook-top, but have gotten used to the open grate and I like that it's so easy to clean. Only two drawbacks: the drawer beneath the oven is smaller than what we had before and doesn't provide as much storage. And it's deeper and the control knobs are on the front, so it sticks out about 4 inches further into the kitchen making it hard for me to reach items in the cabinet above the stove. No worries. I just need to grab a stool!

Love, love, this stove!
from Williamston, Mi
Everytime I walk into my kitchen and look at my stove, I smile. I bought the white one with the stainless steel knobs and handles. Looks way more expensive than what it was. I especially like the huge glass oven and the continuous grates. No regrets. If you have propane though, hire someone to hook up the conversion kit. That was no easy task!

The grates are not favorite
from Kentland, IN
The grates are beautiful to look at, however they are a pain to clean. I already scratched the stainless on the top part of the stove trying to get the racks locked back together. They are heavy and awkward. I also don't understand the convection bake. I don't feel like it is cooking anything any faster than normal. It is pretty, which was why I bought it. Wish I would have done a little more research.

This is a great range for cooking!
from Wesley Chapel, FL
It's only two weeks old, but I already love it! The cooktop looks good and it great to use. The oven is big! And I absolutely love the huge window into the oven!
from Minneapolis Suburb
We like the new range and really like the 5-burner option. I also love the ability to shut off the display and save energy, we already have two other "clocks" in the kitchen. We also love the fact that the oven light comes on whenever the oven door is opened, this is way smart! We've only found two issues with the range: the first is that the front knobs and oven handle get REALLY hot when the convection bake option is used; the other is that the lowest adjustments on most burners is too hot, they can't be used to simmer anything.
nice for the price
from upstate new York
Overall a good purchase for yhe price. The 5 burner set up is useless considering how close all the burners are. Also the close burners make it hard to even use the usual four at once. The oven makes up for the poorly designed burners. Satisfied with my purchase but would not buy again.

Love my gas range oven is huge and love the 5 burners . I would buy other maytag appliances . I also have a maytag washer and dryer and they work great now in need of a new fridge .
from Brookline MA
I bought this range 2 months ago and love it. It is handsome and cooks like a dream.
I like the stove, it's basic and this is what we were looking for. I don't need a lot of extras and this fits our style.
