Comments about Maytag 29.937" Free Standing Electric Range - Black on Black:
Overall this double oven electric range is a great product. I love the idea of having two ovens to cook various foods at the same time. The convection settings are excellent. The only problems I found was that keeping the stainless steel and glass top clean takes work. I wish Maytag would have used a used a coating that would have minimized the smudges and fingerprints on the stainless steel. A good stainless steel cleaner like Thor is a necessity. Also, be very careful with the glass top. Glass can easily be scratched. Make sure you never use an abrasive cleanser or pad on the glass top. My glass top and handle came with scratches and had to be replaced. Now the range is as good as new and I am very pleased with it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

A Huge Improvement to Our Kitchen!
from Eugene, OR
Overall, this is on awesome appliance. We haven't had it very long, so I can't speak to how well it holds up, but it works very well for now. We love the double oven. We got rid of our toaster-oven and use the top oven for most of our cooking. Both ovens heat evenly and true to temperature as far as we can tell. The cook top took some getting used to, but works well with all of our pots and pans. The convection oven is maybe not as powerful as more expensive/professional type ones, but it is wonderful enough for me! If you buy this stove you will no doubt think for yourself ahead of time that the bottom oven is Very Low. You will be right. If I could redesign this stove, I would try to make the control panel on atop a wee bit smaller and put another two inches under the bottom door. It literally lays on the ground. I would also use more knobs and fewer electronic buttons. The button pushing sequences are not very intuitive--especially the timer. Also the amber clock is impossible for me to read unless I am right by the stove. Last design gripe: the burner on/stove top hot lights are tiny, and hard to remember which is which. For all the really important things though--like even cooking-- this unit is super. We love being able to bake different things at different temperatures simultaneously. I also love the enclosed lower oven elements; they make quick wipe ups of overflows so much more likely to happen!
This range has really poor buttons
from Louisville, OH
The button that you have to press to set the oven temp and set the clock is horrible! You have to press it so hard it hurts my fingers every time. The timer also does not shut off by itself which I hate! I am also constantly burning things in the upper oven or undercooking. The range top burners are also awkward to use and the warmer unit barely heats up.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The service and installation was a wonderful experience.
Maytag is great but not used all features.
This product is excellent and fun to cook with. The Maytag oven has turn me into a better CHEF. My dream.

Best Stove Ever
This stove replaced a 25 year old range/oven. The features, style, capacity, engineering are flawless. We can't wait for the holidays so we can take full advantage of the dual oven and five burner range. The only problem we have is that we have to remodel part of the kitchen to showcase this beautiful appliance.
This stove was on my wish list and I thrilled to finally own this. I do alot of family dinners and the 2 ovens is such a plus for me with big dinners. So far I have been very happy with my purchase and the convenient feature of having 2 ovens.

Overall, a very good product.
Have had this product for a couple of months. Almost everything has performed well. There are two issues that I have with this model. 1) There are no warning lights on the cooking surface to warn people of hot burners. There's one on the control panel but it doesn't tell you which burner is still hot and it's hard to locate. Two members of my family have slightly burned themselves as a result. We are too conditioned to looking for the "hot surface" indcators being on the cooking surface. 2) We need to run the cleaning cycle for at least 4 hours to adequately clean the ovens. Much longer than our older range. Nice Range
Very Nice Oven/Range
I bought this as an electric appliance about 5 years ago as I don't have gas available where I live. I much prefer a gas range due to quicker heat response and being able to do canning. Otherwise I really love this appliance. It's very easy to keep clean. especially the ceramic top. I've found using a product specifically made for glass tops makes cleaning more efficient. My only complaints are that the upper oven does not have an upper element so it does not work well for cooking items that need to be browned on the top and that the bottom oven is so low that it's hard to lift heavy items like turkeys. Maybe having the smaller oven on the bottom would work better since heavy items are not used in the small oven. I noticed that other people have complained that the oven fan is noisy and I have not noticed that problem with mine.
This oven makes awful noises
When baking in the lower oven after it reaches 300 degrees it makes a horrid loud vibrating sound as the fan circulates air. It's irritating and annoying and embarrassing when company is over. I've had this product 3 weeks and an utterly unhappy with it for the price paid for it!
