Does not use enough water to clean clothes
from kansas city
Comments about Maytag 3.4 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White on White:
This is a terrible washer. Saves water because it does not use enough to clean clothes.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER!!!! STAY AWAY!!!
from Louisville, KY
This washer does NOT even deserve 1 star! I've had nothing but trouble from this thing. Right after the factory warranty was up, I had problem after problem. My clothes started coming out with blotched looking spots, then the sensor stopped working correctly. Now, I have to start the wash, then when it says it's finished, I open it, and the water hasn't drained. So I have to turn the knob to "drain & spin" and then wait for it to "finish" again. It takes me twice as long to finish a load of laundry, AND I have to be home so I can set it to drain and spin; because if I don't set it to do so directly after it's finished, my clothes are setting in the dirty water. Terrible product. I will never buy another Maytag again!

Do not buy
from Bethel vermont
It does not clean the clothes. I use liquid detergent but if I don't double rinse ev Everything has soap spots. Now it will not spin out the water.
do not purchase this washer.

This washer last only 3 years before the moter burned out. Single family with only doing 2 loads a week. Was not happy with maytags response to this problem. I thought I has purchased top of the line.
Insta - junk
from Pearland Texas
I bought this a week ago . It it is ridiculously noisly, that is for the 10 minutes it actually worked. It stopped working part way through the first cycle, won't drain. The vendor is bringing me another one in a week. For now I regret buying it.
In the first year of owning this machine, I had to call for repairs 3 times and now a year later It needs to be worked on again, Worst machine I've ever owned.
Biggest piece of junk
Don't buy this product. The sensor doesn't always work. You think your getting your clean clothes and they haven't even been washed. Never trust anything that promises to self adjust (sensor). THEY DON'T WORK.
I have had this machine 1 month, it's very loud, when shifting from wash to rinse and again to spin. Also, when spinning it literally walks across the floor. Help
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this machine just over one year ago and I have never liked it. It has a tendency to fill up and then not wash. It also has issues with the spin cycle. I may have purchased a lemon but I will never buy Maytag again.
Value and Quality

This has been a dependable, problem-free washer going on 4yrs old. It washes thoroughly. The secret? It has a proper, full-size agitator. DO NOT consider any top loading washer that doesn't have an agitator. The number of complaints with those that clothes come out untouched by the water and unclean as a result is very common. Any brand. My only complaint with the Centennial is the labeling for the cycle knob. It's comically and unnecessarily complex. The first year of ownership I had to pull the manual out every time I wanted to wash a load due to being confused which cycle to choose. The manual presents a cryptic full page grid regarding which cycle to use. Heavy Regular or Regular Heavy? Give me a break, Maytag. Very happy with the reliability and capability of this washer.
