Comments about Maytag 3.6 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:
I just replaced my washer. I had my other Maytag for over 30 years! This one is high efficiency and I had to get used to the smaller water levels but it cleans great! It is SOOO quiet too!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great features and quality

So far I like the machine. The idea of saving water is a good idea as I have a well for my water supply. Also, I can put more clothes in this machine vs my old machine.

Big mistake to purchase this
I had a Maytag washer that lasted me for years. I loved it. The pump went and everyone advised me it wasn't worth fixing; time to buy a new washer. I called my appliance dealer and asked him for the replacement model to the washer I had—just a simple top-loading washer. It didn't occur to me that a newer model would NOT be an improvement on the old. The machine is unacceptably noisy—it can be heard everywhere in my house—and it vibrates when it spins. I thought perhaps there was something wrong with the machine that it was so noisy. The store sent a technician over and he said the noise was normal and that it is a common complaint. He added that he was surprised the salesperson had even recommended the machine to me. I wish I could return it without penalty. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!!!!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE
No control over water level, either too little or too much and clothes twist up in a pile in the middle and stay dry while moving back and forth in a pile. Noisy and vibrates like its going to break. No ability to alter the entire cycle once it starts, no matter what you do.Detergent pours onto clothing before it is wet and whites come out blue. If you want spots on your clothes then get this machine. Your water bill will go up not down if you buy this machine. YOU BETTER KEEP ON LOOKING
Hate this product.
from Joelton, TN
I purchased this product, not knowing sensor your water means 2inches of water in the bottom of the tub... As you add clothes it gives you small amounts of water. I hate that washing a blanket on bulky settings, causes the blanket to mushroom in spin cycle resulting in all the dirty water to end up on top of blanket. Did I mention, there is zero place to add fabric softener. If they would take this washing machine back ( I purchased this product in May,2016) I would gladly take the older model with the agitator in the middle... If you read this before you buy, please beware... I wish I had read this before I purchased this product. I am waiting to see if Maytag, whirlpool are for Thier customers and make my life easier by eliminating this BIG headache.
Horrible start button
By Bella's mom
from Grafton WI
Purchased this machine in March. Like the large stainless tub. However the start button which is a push in type button is terrible. I pushed it in and it stayed in! Had to finish my load at a laundromat. Repair man coming tomorrow. What was anyone thinking about such a flimsy start on a wash machine.? I have had many Maytag items and was always behind pleased, but this is horrible. Also as stated it should not take almost an hour for a load of wash. Very disappointed. Definitely not up to your previous standards.

Thought I would like it. To determine water level there are "pictures",. Like I can't read... So, I choose the "bulky sheets" because it shows the water level very high. Well, I put in my dirty jeans and shirts and the water only came up about 6 inches. Not even enough to cover the clothes! Then it started washing. I had to get the garden hose and fill this thing up! It's the most worthless piece of junk I think I have ever bought!
We bought this washer a couple days before leaving for vacation. Once we returned home and realized the terrible choice we had made, it was past the store's 6 day return window. The water level never gets deep enough to cover the laundry and the items on top never get pulled down by the agitator. We've tried everything as far as settings go and even tried wetting the laundry prior to starting the washer because we were advised the increased weight would result in deeper water. It didn't. I was excited at the idea of a Maytag due to the great reputation but now I am so disappointed.
The Last Maytag
from Grafton NY
This was our first and last Maytag! Bought 4 years ago to replace a faithful 20 yr old GE in our summer home. Every year, like clockwork, the machine would fail to complete the full cycle and every year the repairer would replace the "activator assembly" , a cheap piece of plastic part that controlled the various functions. The repairer said Maytag knew it was prone to failure but did nothing to improve the part. At nearly $250 a pop to repair, we would have been better off at the Laundromat! It just failed again so we are junking a 4 yr old machine
Cleaner results than our previous washer

- Like the size and capacity of the machine.- has a modified agitator-like structure inside- not crazy about the suggested way of initiating detergent to the wash
