Great double oven gas range

Comments about Maytag 30" Free Standing Gas Range - White on White:
This range replaces a standard 30-year-old four-burner, oven/broiler gas range. There was a definite learning curve for me.First, my old range burners each provided the same heat output. This range has five-burners with different heat outputs. It took a while to appreciate the different levels (low on one could equal high on another).Second, the lower oven has a convection option, a feature I have not had.Controls are user friendly and easy to understand. (Not necessary to read the manual.)I'm a retired guy who cooks and entertains a lot. If cooking for myself, I use the smaller upper oven. I also use it in the "warm" mode to heat dinner plates prior to serving or to warm butter-filled rolls.I tested the convection oven by making a dish I had done hundreds of times: baked chicken quarters. I chose the lower heat option rather than the shorter time option for the test. The chicken was nicely crisp on the outside. The surprise was how moist and juicy it was on the inside. The difference was quite noticeable and pleasing. I plan on another test with another frequent dish. I think I will be converted to convection cooking.I like the smallest burner which enables me to simmer or keep warm sauces/gravies without constant stirring and attention. Not being the neatest of cooks, I am very pleased with how easy it is to clean the range top.I've been using this range for about a month now and I have no complaints. It is a good unit.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Love my double oven gas range!

Simple features, love the double oven and convection option. The range is easy to clean. One glitch in design, any spillage from the range can fall into the heat vents for the oven. You have to remove the inside panel of the ovens to clean the glass. Poor design, but I still like appreciate having the double oven's and easy to clean range. Definitely worth purchasing if they've changed out the heat vent location for the ovens.

I bought about a year ago, and have had no problems.
Good Stove, Has it's problems

I'm a foodie at heart and love to bake and cook. I enjoy this product, it is so nice to have two ovens! However, there are some design things I don't care for, like how the bottom oven door hits the floor when it's opened, and that there is no broil in both ovens, just the top oven. You also have to take the doors completely apart to clean the inside of the glass where food drips down into it. The top oven is also having problems and we've only had it 10 months, but we did get the floor model on clearance so maybe that is why. We cooked lasagna in both of them and the bottom oven did great, but the top one is shutting off when the bottom oven is on at the same time. I hope that once we get it fixed it will go back to being a decent oven--Overall I have been happy with it. My advice, though, if you can afford it I would buy a full size double oven with a separate stovetop. We just got a good deal on this one.
Love the convenience of a extra oven

Bought this at Christmas time and have loved the extra oven. Great for small meals or a batch of cookies. Quick heat up time and easy access. Less bending over. Easier on the old back. Plus still have a full size oven for big family meals.

Loving our double oven. Additionally I love that the burners are different sizes and that the burner grates cover the entire top surface, providing a solid surface.

Broiler doesn't heat evenly burns center of food being cooked doesn't matter where the rack is placed. Electronics occasionally reboot for no reason. Had to replace complete gas valve assembly (under warranty) because of leaking. Have only owned this oven 6 months.??Needs one more high BTU burner. Grate needs more support for small pots they can easily tip over if not placed perfectly on grate.Looks nice, keep warm burner good idea and works well, range easy to keep clean. Convection oven works fantastic. Matches my Maytag refrigeratorHas a lot of quirks that shouldn't be on a 1200 dollar range.

Awesome design yields a superbly functional range with ultimate flexibility. Five burners on top in an easy-to-clean configuration. The upper oven is large enough for most day-to-day functions, and will fit a 2 quart casserole easily. Double racks in the lower oven make it the go-to choice for cookies or bread baking, and it is big enough to roast an enormous turkey. Can't wait for next Thanksgiving - I have the oven for the best dinner ever!
