I have used Maytag laundry equipment since my marriage 51 years ago. My first washer took me from my oldest son's birth, and the accompanying laundry, through the births of 2 more children. They all learned how to do laundry with those machines. My parents also used Maytag--the quality of the product is unbeatable! This year I switched to a front-load washer due to my arthritis; it's so much easier now!
4.5 FRONT LOAD MAYTAG
from OAK HARBOR WA,
BOUGHT PAIR A FEW MONTHS BUT JUST INSTALLED IN APRIL. FOUND THAT THE MACHINE WASHES WELL AND IS VERY QUITE BUT I LIKED THE CYCLE CHOICES I HAD IN MY SERIES 3000 FROM MY PREVIOUS HOME MUCH BETTER. THIS DOES SEEM TO GET THINGS CLEAN AND IT IS QUITE.
A Grand Slam
This is our third front load washer and dryer set and they are by far the best. Works so well and is so quite during the washing cycle. Easy to load/unload with the large door opening. We wash clothes daily and our high school sports uniforms go in nasty and come out looking great. Very satisfied.

I enjoy the new Maytag washer, yet find it a bit noisy on start up and high speed spin compared to the Neptune model previously owned. Also the high speed spin leaves a lot of excess moisture in clothes. It is nice to be back to a Maytag.

It is a little loud in the high spin, but yet it is a great feature. It cleans very well and When I hang laundry outside it made it a lot nicer with that high spin feature. The size also enables me to do bulky items when needed.
DOES NOT CLEAN YOUR CLOTHES!!!
from Chattanooga TN
I have had this washer for less than a year and it is going to the dump!! I had a Whirlpool duet for 10 years and replaced it with this machine wanting to buy "Made in the U.S. product. I have tried every detergent and pre treat on the market and this washer simply DOES NOT COME CLOSE TO GETTING OUR CLOTHES CLEAN!! I am referring to everyday laundry, stains would be a joke to even attempt in this washer. I have never had this problem before with any washer. I have to wash towels in small loads on the longest cycle with HOT water TWICE!!! Do not waste your hard earned money on this washer!! Maytag should be ashamed!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is a good machine. I have never had any trouble with mine and the soil power cycle is fantastic at getting dirt out of clothes. Very important for people with kids and who live on a farm.

I have been using this machine for 2 months now and getting used to it. I still miss my 40+ year old Maytag top loader with agitator but agitators are phasing out so I am trying my first front loader. I read the reviews before purchasing and have found the complaints to not be as bad as folks were claiming. It is harder to learn than my old washer where I set time, temp, size, type (reg or permanent press), threw some soap over the clothes and 30 min later was done. There are so many things you have to set with this one!I will admit it uses a lot less water but I question the energy efficiency when most loads take 43 min to 1.5 hours! I never use the cold wash setting (1.5 hrs) - just use one of the shorter ones with cold water. So far I have not had anything get stuck in rubber ring but it takes only seconds to check so no big deal.It is a little annoying to have to take the soap tray out and let it dry and leave the front door partially open in a not very big laundry room. Most our clothes are lightly soiled and it seems to work fine for that. Some jeans didn't come out as clean as I would have expected.I run the high spin only on towels - it wrinkles clothes so medium is best. Low speed I never use since it leaves a lot of water in.I do like the fact that I can run large loads but most of the time I just have about a 1/2 load.
