Comments about Maytag Top Loading 4.7 Cubic Foot Washer:
I was worried about noise from any washer I purchased since it's close to the living area but it's not a problem. Good size and I'm impressed by the warranty.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Was looking for a top load agitator machine and we found it.
By Gus the Photographer
We looked around for a top loader agitator machine and the pickings were slim. Right before we chose to buy this machine came out and filled our requirements. The extra warranty protection was a big plus.
I really like the top loading..
I bought this a month ago and love it. I had a front loader and had so much problems with it.It really gets my clothes clean. I can fill it full with water or very little. It is huge I can put 5-6 pair of my husbands work jeans in and they come out clean! The only thing so far i don't like is that its so deep have a tip toe to reach in the bottom am to short.
Nice and quiet
from Lawrence, KS
We purchased this washer two weeks ago. It replaces our Kenmore which was 27+ years old. The cycles are more quiet than our old washer. However, my husband is acquainted with programmable electric motors and for the way this machine is programmed, he fails to see how it will ever get his work clothes clean when the farming season arrives again. Make no mistake about it, we have not taken any dirty clothes out of this machine but it appears to him that its made to wash clothing other than work clothes. It is an HE machine and we are used to seeing his work clothes covered with water to get them really clean. It may be an adjustment period on our part to simply get used to the new cycles.
Does the job!
from Jefferson, Wi
Love that I can choose a setting and make adjustments to the temperature, soil level and spin speed if desired. Clothes come out very clean!
I've had this washer for about two weeks, and have done probably ten or so loads of wash--a variety of things such as bed linens, towels, a quilt, and all sorts of clothes. It's done a good job on everything so far, with minimal tangling, and the spin speed makes all of it quick to dry. I love being able to deep wash when necessary, and to set the water temp, the spin speed, and level of dirt as needed. It is noisier than the washer I had before, but it's cycles are mostly quicker to complete, and the flexibility of choices are great. Things I would change are the noise level, the color (I wish it was available in grey), and I still don't like the locking lid. But otherwise, I think it's a very good choice, and the 10 year warranty is reassuring.

Many new features compared to my old washer. Had to read the instruction booklet to understand all the features. Cleans clothes great, wish it spun clothes a little dryer.
Good so far. I have had very little experience to date.

The depth is good for the size of the washer. I can reach the laundry in the bottom. I like the wash so far. I have very little experience using it to date.

I prefer a top loading washing machine
from Madison, Wisconsin
This is not my first Maytag, but I inherited a front loader washing machine with the house. I pretty much hated the front loader and all the bending it required to load and unload the machine. It did not have a pedestal. It also leaked intermittently and unpredictably. I am very pleased with this top loader. I am still learning how to use it, and honestly, have not tried all the cycles available, yet. When the "clean the washer" cycle light came on, I had to look up what to do. The water level sensing works very well and the capacity is more than enough. My last Maytag lasted more than 21 years. I hope this one does, too.
