Comments about Microsoft Surface 3 Power Supply:
On my third power supply. Weak, badly designed connection, keeps failing. Really? I hate Apple, but they'd never release such a badly designed product.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Lasts a full 2 months!
3rd charger in less than a year. Not powerful enough to push past "plugged in, not charging." AND you cannot replace it because it has been out of stock for weeks!

Very poorly designed Surface3 power cable
My power cord did not even last 9 months. This is because of it's very poor design which I had never expected from a company like Microsoft. Microsoft should redesign replacement cable and send free replacement to all Surface3 customers. though it is a simple Micro USB type B cable at surface end and can be replaced by any other similar cable but that is a temporary stop gap arrangement. We as customers deserve good products and Microsoft owes this to us.... Microsoft - hope you will do the needful.

This is a horrible design. I've had no problems with USB ports and charged of my other devices that use the same type of USB port, but this Surface design is just ridiculous. The Surface 3 is a beautiful tablet, but how can the charger be such and issue? Who's idea was this Microsoft?
Given the Price of the Surface 3, I would have thought the charging cord would not be an issue. It became loose and unable to maintain contact to get a charge after only one year of use. The replacement is working, but I can tell it will quickly be in the same shape. I notice that it is also out of stock now, so I don't know if I will even be able to get a new one when this one no longer works. My other daughter has an earlier model of the Surface with a different type of charging cord, but it also is no longer working. She is leaving for college and decided to just get a mac air. I think we would have been better off getting an i-pad.
Charger stopped working properly after a year. Micro USB does not fit well.
Works just as intended
Delivers a full charge fairly rapidly. Powerful enough to deliver a charge even when the Surface is being moderately used.

Power supply chord
I got the product shipped right away 5-7 business days was about it. Hoping this one lasts longer than the original did, about 6-7 months. I would think the power chord would have lasted longer athan 7 months. Not satisfied with the performance of my surface pkg at all, I bought the orig in Sept of 2015, replaced it twice due to hardware malfunctions, both times losing my few files I had entered, and 1 month ago, the power chord quit. Not pleased at all, am becoming more computer savy simply because I have set up the same lil' laptop 3 times in 7 months. If this set goes awry, I am turning it in for something else.
I am surprised to see so many comments over this items plug, but no mention of what seems the ( 5' ) rather short cord length. Plugged into my floor power-strip, leaves only 2'-4' above table height, to connect to the Surface. Making for a very limited range of Surface placement on table area.
Too short and not secure. Love the surface itself but hate the charger.
