Bad quality of refurbished items
Bought this and just arrived today. Was hoping that the quality of microsoft-certified refurbished would be really high, but unfortunately this product arrived damaged. As soon as I turned it on, the screen flickers and turns different colors. Am returning it immediately.
Good buy for my money
Lightweight. Nice definition of colors. Good sound quality
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I got it for school and its really my best friend for studying words and pdf battery life is better than expected. Also it works really well on my lap on lecture halls. Even when i put my legs up i can adjust the backboard to make it comfortable.

light weight laptop replacement
I bought my Surface Pro 4 as a laptop replacement as I was getting shoulder ache carrying a laptop around. At first there was teething problems, but now I am in love with my Surface Pro. I love the way it can which from tablet to laptop mode so I can use it on flights during take off and landing. I was not aware of the sketch feature when I bought it, but now all my meeting notes are hand written in OneNote. The Drawboard PDF is amazing too. I use it read and mark up documents and it means that I rarely carry any paperwork around with me. If I want to reference them in a meeting I just pull them up on my screen. The machine does freeze every now and again, but I restarts quickly and reinstalls all the information. My only wish is that it had the facility to add a SIM card rather than tethering. I have the i5 with 4GB of RAM. I mostly use my Surface Pro 4 for meeting notes, emailing, reviewing documents, surfing the net, watching Netflix, iView etc. Also it is light and easy to carry around (sometimes I think I have forgotten it)

Non-functional battery, Firmware drivers fail.
Paid extra for expedited shipping to make sure it would be available as a birthday present. Arrived quickly, but not in a useful way. Battery fails to charge. Always reads "plugged in, not charging". Tried many of the ways on line to work around it (various combinations of charging while shutdown, using one and two button reset, ...), but battery never got above 0%. In addition, after running Windows Update, several of the device drivers failed to start, including all of the ones in the "firmware" area. The updated video driver failed to install.

inconvenient to use. user unfriendly
I bought surface pro 4. Like the machine but hate microsoft software Edge. If I want to down Xodo, it always go to Edge and ask for a Microsoft accont. Then it will wait forever for account login to show up. It will never show up. Not sure why Microsoft always want to ask for an account for download a non-Microsoft software. Edge is very user -unfriendly software. This makes my experience with the surface pro 4 very bad

College Student Approves
I bought the surface pro prior to my arrival at college. I bought this strictly based off of the fact that it has a writing feature that I could take written notes on. Writing is easy and a breeze. It does not sensor my hand when I place it on the tablet to write; it sensors the stylus. You can write just like you normally do on a piece of paper. The tip of the stylus is just fine- there is no need to buy extra tips if you are just using it for notes and personal use. The stylus isn't heavy by an means, and it sensors how hard you press on the screen and varies your width of your handwriting when you write. I do recommend that you buy a keyboard because the surface is basically useless without it from a student standpoint. Writing papers and typing emails is a struggle when you are typing on the screen. One note is absolutely amazing and I am more than satisfied with it. I have the i5-4GB and it is plenty of storage. I have no problem with the speaker capability. The battery will last about a day if I am running One Note all day, and about a day and a half if I close all my applications. I charge it every night just like I do my phone. Overall: I am more than satisfied with the product. It is light weight, sturdy, durable, has plenty of storage, and JUST like a laptop once you equip it with a keyboard.
Overall a top product
I was looking for a tablet computer that I could also use for work. I first had a IPad pro, but returned it after 1 week for several reasons, the IPad is a great entertainment tablet that is easy to use. However if it goes down to serious work like creating a Word/Pages document the navigation on an IPad is a nightmare and the rather expensive pencil can't even do simple mark ups. After almost 8 Years of using apple computers this is my first Windows device since. It is quite impressive, it's a full desktop computer but can also run in a simpler tablet mode in example to use apps. From my perspective I can tell Windows improved a lot since I used it the last time, but I suppose it would not be Windows if it wouldn't have software glitches, really hope that Microsoft fixes those, other than that, not a lot to complain about. The screen is crisp and bright, the pencil that comes with it has a button on the top that directly activates the note pad even when in sleeping mode. Positives: - Pencil is included. - Pencil integrates seamlessly also in programs like Word, in example for mark ups. - Runs like a regular computer with file explorer, full desktop computer ability. - Tablet mode for easier navigation and apps. - Detachable keyboard has a track pad. - Integrated stand with adjustable angle. - Micro SD card slot. - USB port. - Monitor port. Negatives: - Windows software glitches: - Attaching/detaching the keyboard gets not always recognized. - Using Notes app offline does not work if signed in to Microsoft account. - Several apps require to sign in randomly, such as Netflix and Microsoft account. - Hardware speakers still on when Headphones plugged in, had to fix manually. - Waking up from sleep mode takes quite long (experienced 10 seconds)
